  1. Just think of the arrow heads you'll be able to find.
  2. I miss Harold Ensley even worse.
  3. How many nights would it take to clean out a good hole anyway. I mean if someone were so intentioned. Not many.
  4. You're lucky you didn't get snakebit.
  5. If you will recall, I believe the bent of this thread to the Smallmouth v. Spots discussion largely arose from some comments I made about having a problem with keeping smallmouth and if I wanted some fish to keep and I could choose spotted bass I would. Where is the whoops?
  6. It's like that over here on the Finley too. I suggest maybe going down to the Buffalo or something.
  7. That suggestion somehow sounds familiar.
  8. That's really funny.
  9. ^^ And that's why if we're out on the river & I want to cook some fish and I can take spotted bass, I will.
  10. Sorry man, I'll take Bill Pfleiger's words as the most likely correct ones about fish in Missouri.
  11. According to those losers at USGS, a whole lot of places. http://nas.er.usgs.gov/queries/FactSheet.aspx?speciesID=397
  12. Well, if you believe those losers at MDC: "Introduced populations of spotted bass tend to replace the smallmouth through hybridization and competition". And I happen to be a great admirer of smallmouth bass.
  13. My buddies and I will keep stocker trout. We'll keep catfish as long as it's not a channel. We'll keep carp. We'll most certainly keep crappie and bluegill. We don't keep bass of any kind as a general rule. The exception being a night on the river, and then enough for dinner - maybe. And then if I am catching any spotted bass, those are the ones to keep.
  14. James is closer and every bit as good for another option.
  15. Nice trip, nice report, nice fish. Thanks for posting.
  16. That's one reason why I wish smallmouth bass tasted like crap.
  17. Call me crazy but I wish smallmouth bass tasted like crap.
  18. It takes about six years for a smallmouth to get to 14 inches. I fear we are in permanent disagreement. Especially given the pressure that the rivers see these days. Again I say they are a lot more fun to catch than they are to eat. Put them back.
  19. I got a problem with people keeping smallmouth. They grow too slow to be a meat fish and are a lot more fun to catch than they are to eat. Put them back.
  20. Plus you guys are fishing where every yahoo and his brother do too. Between the park and Baptist Camp is a lot of water with a lot of fish in it but it takes a little bit to get there.
  21. Power bait or three or four grains of corn on trout hook, a split shot about 2' above the hook and a 1/4 oz bell sinker above that. Chuck it as far out and down from the dock as you can.
  22. Hey if the box pops up I can do it. The avatar proves it. And thanks for the welcome and the attempted help. I did e-mail Phil on my little problem.
  23. I found this forum the other day and had to join. Live just outside Ozark and love to float and fish the streams and occasionally Taneycomo. Looks to be a very informative site. Thanks for hosting it Phil.
  24. Turned pop up blocker off, does the same thing. That's just wierd, I've never had a problem posting photos anywhere.
