  1. I do. You strike me as the sort of guy who's no stranger to the brig.
  2. Nice job. Any of it coming to jigfest?
  3. The misused pi. Wonder what the back story is on that one.
  4. I got my time off lined up too! I just hope the water quality is good and it's not windy. I am really looking to seeing you and all the rest of the regulars, meeting new folks and generally having a relaxing great weekend. Can't wait, but will. I know Lane wants to see you again too. Did I mention he is graduating in December? He's pretty excited about his work prospects.
  5. We should set up a go fund me page for this project. All about how we help wayward souls deal with addictions and such, get them in touch with nature, provide support groups, feed them, put a roof over their head etc.
  6. I always enjoy your posts RPS. You add lots of flavor to this stew.
  7. Yeah this. But its passing strange there isn't better security.

Try stuffing the cavity with a ball of sausage and a tablespoon or two of maple syrup.

    What's Cooking?

We're having a Texas style baked sweet potato tonight. What makes it Texas style you might ask. Simple. One sweet potato that's big enough for three people. And about Texas. It's a great state with one big problem. It's full of Texans.
  10. Heartiest congratulations on that nice gar. Did you clean it? I never have but the rumor is they are really good cleaned the right way. Tenderloins if I recall.
  11. Good job there Uncle
  12. Good for you.

    What's Cooking?

Beef Stew. Cubed seasoned and browned chuck roast, three carrots in long heavy sticks, three stalks of celery same way, a rutabaga in about one inch cubes, two red potatoes same way, half a dozen nice sized brussell sprouts, a big red onion and half a left over Vidalia, can of diced tomatoes and a quart of beef bone broth, five or six good dashes of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire, one envelope of beef stew seasoning, and some bay leaf.. The meat is cooking right now, will add the vegetables after it's been going about 90 minutes at 350 in the blue roaster. Veggies are in. Needed a little more liquid so poured in a bottle of Heineken. Smells pretty good in the house.
  14. You're moving at about the same speed as the current. I seriously doubt it makes any discernible difference in the fishing.
  15. I just buy multi packs of the cheap stuff and throw tube away no regrets if there is any problem.
  16. I lost two chains with floats. Current pulls it right down. Other than that, 100% Mr. Ham. I put a piece of that bike innertube over the chain too. Think it might help it from hanging up as easily.
  17. Now you're talkin'!!! BEST BBQ sauce I have ever had came from this man.
  18. I'll bring a pot of posole to kick in for Thursday night. Make a big pan of cornbread too. Lovey has promised to make a pineapple upside down cake. As always, will bring good coffee makings.

Slice about 3/4" thick, clean all the valves and other connective tissue. Salt, pepper and just enough time on a really hot grill or in a really hot skillet to be rare to medium rare. It's a real treat. Great flavor and texture. Don't be squeamish - it's muscle just like the rest of the deer.

    What's Cooking?

Deer heart is way good. Traditional second day of deer camp breakfast was bacon, deer heart, deer liver, fried eggs and fried potatoes. People with good hearing swore they could hear arteries hardening. You are right about rare to medium rare.
  21. This sounds like the argument for not keeping score in youth sports. There is indeed culpability, like it or not.
  22. I'm a dinosaur who does not favor competition in all things. And no, WE didn't do it. I've never ever fished in a tournament of any kind and I never will. You and your kind did it.
  23. B.A.S.S. took a relaxing pastime and turned it into a Frankenstein monster. I'll never forgive that.
