Yep, big males, update on the weight, my wife says 3.5 means 3 1/2 pounds. so i better clarify, 3 pounds 5 oz. lol I caught quite a few smallmouth this weekend, only 1 being keeper size, seems the lake is doing good with smallmouth, they sure are a blast to catch.
Quill, later in the day it was showing 55-56 with that warm wind blowing, when I came in this evening it was showing 57 where I was at. I assume it may vary a little with cooler night time temps. I took a older gentleman staying here from Iowa out this evening hoping to get him on some grub fish but seen no activity, he was thrilled just to get out, we had a good time.
Went out early this morning and marked some fish on the first secondary point I came to. Pulled out a grub and on 2nd cast pulled a 3.5 out of the lake and 1 other keeper. I hung in there and tried to coax more into giving up but to know avail. Been having some issues with my trolling motor batteries, had to come back and recharge them, found out one of them is draining power, will have to replace it, will get back out this evening.
This lake will sure fool ya that's for sure RPS. It appears to me that the slightly sloping banks are out of the water and the banks now drop off much more. Making it a bit of a challenge using the wobble head today and keeping contact on the bottom, I went with a heavier head to help stay in contact on the bottom, just trying to finding the right banks along with dodging all the trees out of the water.
I fished this morning till about 11, finally found a nice mess of them on some secondary points on a wobble head, ended up with only 1 keeper. It appears they had to be around bigger chunk rock on these points the ones I found. I caught a couple on a spinnerbait on shady sides of docks, and caught several this evening on a shaky head only on bluff type rock along with a couple more on wobblhead but no keepers. All in all it was a pretty good day considering high sky's and bluebird conditions. Give her another go at it tomorrow. Good luck everyone!!

Wrench, what do you expect out of the crappie this spring, haven't been down crappie fishing in a couple of years, need to put some in the skillet and in freezer this year.
