Started this morning about 9:00 am with a jerbait, ended up with one, went to a spinner bait & got 2 keepers and caught quite a few more. Caught a few on RC, then the drizzle came and the wind laid down. Switched to a jig and caught 2 more keepers, and had a good late afternoon bite on it, all near big bluff type rock on 45% banks. I meant to post these pics, some reason it will not upload the 4th
Gitnby, A friend and I are planning on coming down Sunday through Tuesday and stay at play-port resort. We may be bringing 2trucks & 2 boats. I figure we will probably be leaving around noon on Tuesday. Whether we bring 2 trucks or not you are welcome to a ride back. All this is contingent on the weather but as of now it looks ok. I live just outside of Washington, if you can't get someone out here I will get you back to your house. If interested you can pm me a phone number. Steve
I'll be darn. Good story. I reckon I was fishing close to history as we used to go to Pensacola quite often when I was a young fellow. WE would camp across the bay at fort pickens and fish the point for reds & blues & crabs. Thanks for the story.
Was at LOZ Sunday, nice cloudy rainy day, started with a jerk bait, caught a few, no keepers, got sidetracked on those darn whites, then threw the rock crawler in the afternoon, caught a nice mess but only 1 keeper. Scaled showed 3-6. So, yes, the jerk, wart bite should be coming.
I have had a lot of success fishing that part of the lake over the years. Been wanting to expand my knowledge of the lake, recently fished up near the new bridge and found some promising areas, problem is it takes so much time. I've found out if you concentrate on the areas you know, you'll keep finding more good locations within those areas without running all over the place.
Started out in the rain throwing a jerk bait this morning, caught a few largemouth, when the rain quit I went to Indian creek and loaded up on these whites, then started throwing a rock crawler, caught a bunch of them but only one keeper, scale said 3-6. Thought about throwing a jig early but stayed with that jerk bait. i guess we will see with this cold weather that is coming will do to the water temps. Good luck.
Sounds good Mike, thanks for the info, likewise a buddy and I are planning a 3 day trip next weekend and am looking forward to just getting out. Hard to believe the water is still up that high. Global warming I reckon. Thanks
That lake can sure make you scratch your head and be unpredictable. As fast as it can go boom it can go bust it seams. Congrats on a hard fought day and sticking with it.
a lot of times when you try to upload from your phone and you get that error it is because the file format for your picture is to large. it is a bit tricky to change that i have found. I e-mail the pictures from my phone to myself, it should ask you what size you want your image sent as, send it as small image. open your e-mail on your pc and save picture, then go to OA and you should be good to go. Note that i have a i-phone but should be similar. Good luck
nice fish, Wednesday morning I had 14 big whites fairly quickly on that smaller to small chunk rock banks & there wasn't much wind but some. I figured the last 2 days would be good with that front and wind coming in.
I see today that the state of Mo. Is paying 9 million to settle the drowning of Brandon Ellingson. The state really screwed up in his death, they never should have combined the two units, at least the family can get some closure finally
