  1. For all that are going to the workshop, be sure to let us know how we can help!

The price on the website abkeenan posted is a good deal. I paid $ 79.00. The 200 or 300 will work great for bass applications.
  3. Bought the lew's 2000 spinning reel about a month ago, but haven't been able to use it much. The reel seems very smooth, light, good bearing count, and a lube port. Paired it with a lew's 7' ML SL rod, seems like a good set up. Hopefully they are as good as the lew's bait caster.
  4. Thanks Dave. Sounds like I need to pick up a few of the Brad's. I noticed the colors are great.
  5. +1, I am with you on this bo. Fishing is just too hit and miss right now. Come on SPRING and some warmer water temps.
  6. Have you fished the Brad's Wiggler baits? How do they differ as compared to warts? I almost bought some the other day when I was in Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers.
  7. Yea I would have bought a Lew's tournament spinning reel, but they only had the 1000 size. I have one of the 2000 models, and it is so much better than the other version they made.
  8. Guys, we could open a small tackle shop and not have to purchase any inventory. The only thing is none of us would want to sell our current stock of tackle.
  9. Congrats Dan! What is the approx. location of your property? We have a second home west of Lampe. You are in for the greatest time of your life.
  10. That's just flat funny bo. I like your way of thinking.
  11. Well said Champ, especially the part about the crank bait with the current water temps.
  12. For some applications I like 10 lb power pro braid with a section of about 6 to 8 ft of fluoro leader. The longer leader leaves you plenty of line to re-tie or if you break off. For others I use 6 & 8 lb fluorocarbon. Mono is okay for something like swimming a grub, unless you need to get the grub deep then fluoro helps keep it down. Braid and fluoro offers better feel with less stretch.
  13. This process is just one more cluster that is our government. Making tons of money, broken worn out equipment and don't hire enough people to take care of the citizens who need this service. This is just one of many examples of why this country is broke. Something has to change!
  14. Happy birthday Bill! Hope you had a great day.
  15. Awesome pic's Quill. It makes me wonder how many of those monsters are near the boat when I am fishing, or at least in the general area. Not to mention how many are watching your bait! Thanks for posting them.
  16. I feel your pain guys. I have been busy upgrading several rods and reels, and also baits. Have dropped plenty of $$$ in the last few months. QB....please keep the sales information to yourself. HA HA.
  17. Wow. What tough fishing. The rig is certainly the way to go based on personal experience and other reports. Congrats on getting 3rd place. Thanks for posting.
  18. Great information. Again, thanks to all who participated and helped set it up. I agree with dtrs, there are no fish anywhere near the KC area of the lake. Not only that, but the wiggle wart doesn't catch fish either .
  19. You can never have too many. I think that is a fare price for them. QB you had better get you some to get ready for spring. The little rig is a fun way to catch em!
  20. Thanks for the report QB. You had a good day. I haven't had a good day fishing in quiet some time. Keep draging that tube, you might smack that big one! Thumbs: I don't have a clue why the fishing is so slow other than the cold water temps. I think you just have to be on the water at the right place, right time and the right technique/bait.
  21. I couldn't make it over for the seminar, but look forward to hearing the audio. Thanks Mr. Stone for taking the time to do the seminar and thanks to Phil Lilley for all you do to promote the sport of fishing.
  22. I use the 3.5" mizmo slim jims tubes. They are perfect when trying to match small bait fish or craws. Not a bad days fishing QB, thanks the report and starting the conversation on tubes. dtrs: I have never rigged a tube with the jig head inside then ran back outside and back into the tube. Certainly would be more weedless, how is the action as compared to open hook setup?
  23. I love it! LMAO...... Great suggestions on spinner bait rod choices from everyone. I don't through a blade much, but when I do the max weight is the 1/2 oz war eagle screaming eagle. For that application I use a $ 79 bps 7' med action bionic blade rod with a bps pro qualifier reel at 6.4:1 gear ratio. Good enough feel, and soft enough tip to delay hook set and let them eat the bait. I just don't want a lot of money in a rod/reel set up that isn't used much.
  24. Forget whether you could catch any fish. Just glad you made it in safely. I opened my truck door in a parking lot and the wind darn near took it off the hinges. Thanks for the report.
  25. Just watched the video, looks like you may have a good bait. Wakes great, and has a tighter wiggle than the fin. Let us know how it catches them.
