we fished Degary at the first BASS team series championship about 3 years ago or so and I can say this it was probably the most beautiful lake I had ever seen. Man was it just pretty there! I would love to go back sometime.

for trout jigs are just the strung marabou packs the best or has anyone tried the wooly bugger marabou? what is the difference?
-
I thought about trying the chenille on them cause I use that on my "roadrunners" that I make but I had never seen is used on trout jigs so I wasn't sure if I should do that or not. I know I'm being picky but sometimes those little buggers ARE picky.

I can handle the fishing part, was mainly wondering if it would effect action or not fish as well. I will keep both styles in the box but sure wanted an alternative to fall a little slower in the water column.

I wondered about that but I think that would take a bunch of thread.

I bought a mold that is good for trout jigs and have been pouring and tying my own for a year or so now. I have had good luck with them. The smallest cavity is still a bit heavier than what I want when there is no water running at all and very clear water so I wanted to try to get some weight off of it. It pours with a collar which makes for pretty nice tying most of the time. Then last night I got the idea to snip the collar and melt it off removing a nice amount of weight and tying to the hook shank. I also thought it might make the marabou flare more in the water because of the nice tight tie. Anyhow the jig on the left has the collar the jig on the right doesn't. My question is does the jig on the right look weird without the collar or should it work okay without the collar? just trying to get the weight down some. I also found some new Eagle Claw Lil' Nasty black sickle style hooks that are ultra sharp that I can't wait to try, note that in the jig on the right as well. Plus they are cheap! thanks for looking and for the input on the new style tie.

are the smallies coming over the dam or were most of them in there and moving up with the water? I know there are some in there anyhow I caught a 4 pounder across from lilleys several years back but curious since the amount of them is increasing with this go round.

man I have some 1/4 ounce trout heads tied up white setting here in Kansas wishing they were down there being used. argh they would be perfect in this current.

I've waited to ask this because I don't want to be insensitive to those effected by the floods. I do have question for Phil or whomever. Was the release enough to change the gravel and holes in the trophy area again? Seems like we have to relearn these every couple years now days to run up on plane. The flood of 2015 really narrowed and shallowed up some spots such as the narrows, lookout island area and between the trophy run and the ramp. Last year was much much harder to get to the cable than years past. I'm beyond curious to see if this release amount this time changed it for the better or for the worse. Also one of the previous floods was "credited" for hurting the population of larger brown trout, it seems the last 2 years we have had an upswing in the numbers of big ones again, does anyone anticipate this flood could of hurt that population again?

Everytime i hear the name Sun Valley i get a flood of emotions. As a kid my family vacationed there every year when a man named Dale owned it. Besides Lilleys it was probably the 2nd best place to stay and was a nice place. The fishing on the old dock there was absolutely incredible. I cant count how many 100 fish days we used to have fishing off that dock. Its really sad its gone, i always stop the boat a couple times each trip at the spot that old dock set on a think about some of the best child hoods memories of my life there in that spot.

That is the old Riverlake resort dock. That resort has long been gone as well.

$50 shipped?

As Phil said you can fish off that boat ramp, it's pretty deep right there and steep you won't need waders and it's one of my favorite spots up there. Fall Creek allows you to fish off their dock for $5 a day I believe or at least they used to. That's a pretty good spot also. Another public place that can be good from the bank is directly across from Scottys trout dock at the mouth of the creek is a public park and that can be a great spot. Last but not least I catch a ton of fish at the landing during certain times off the docks down there.

came across some bagleys and have a bunch of pictures. Looking to see if anyone is interested in buying the entire lot of them they include: Chatter B with "hearts" on the bottom? DB3 Magnums? Diving B III Mama Cat Diving Killer B II DB3 Long cast And several with nothing underneath at all which I assume means they are the oldest ones? Here a couple that I thought might be more rare but I have pictures of a bunch of them. I think there are 13 total baits, 3 or 4 are smaller with a big long lip and nothing underneath except the bagley on the bill of the bait.

I had an older ranger glass boat and loved it but I sold it and bought a 2012 tracker txw175 and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I've taken is all over, I live in Kansas and come to taney 3 to 4 times a year and it's easy pulling and perfect for that. I took it to Ray Roberts and fished a week last year in Texas and had zero issues with that. I would never go back to glass I love my tin. Just my experience though.

they are sure nice to beach the boat when launching alone, or if the family wants to swim or if you gotta take a dump ahahahhaha
-
will do thank you.

I have come across 2 Keel Shields new in the box. they are 6ft white. These retail for $130+tax. I'll sell you these for $80 each and that includes priority shipping with a tracking number provided. a great savings on a great insurance product for your boat.

inquiring minds want to know is Phil himself at 7 bent props this year or the resort as a whole at the 7 props this year? I've made 2 trips up there and bent one myself. the upper end really changed a lot last January. the narrows are bad but the spot between trophy run and the boat ramp got me and I always stay on the right hand side but I guess I didn't get far enough over.
