  1. i can make wet clear coat crackle by getting my hair stuck in it !
  2. maybe during those not so good spawning years you could toss in a few of those "super bass"
  3. look at those gobble guts! great job on the variety , thanks for reporting
  4. the WT will be mid-upper 50's by this evening with this sun today. heck of a nice spot! thanks a bunch for posting a report Dewayne do you do any crappie fishing? I went Saturday.Had to guide some people for slabs, and again Sunday morning with a buddy. Crappie bite was pretty good. Found some keeper spots too, but none THAT big! Did you try throwing that crank on transition banks back in the coves? Big rock to gravel was were we caught some spots.
  5. homemade yes, black flat rubber and gold silicone skirt
  6. Wonder if these ingredients are in SQWINCHER ??
  7. yep,i can see that wouldn't be easy
  8. Wt 52-57 659-658 ish been getting out a little before and after work. The topwater bite is coming on now that we are about to start the month of April. It's spring ! Been catching a few decent keepers on a wacky worm too. Would really like to have a full day on the water to track down the big girls. Been fishing pretty shallow in the coves.
  9. yep, they have been gobbling big time for a few weeks now
  10. sometimes I listen to those bass fishing shows with headphones on , and I swear I hear their tails and/or spine breaking sometimes when they swing them biggins in and let em drop tail first onto the floor. Ever caught a bass with a crooked funny looking tail that looks like it's been broken? I have.
  11. this made me laugh, "i could catch another two or three in the time that it takes to take a picture" bo if it really takes you that long to take a pic of 1 bass, please don't take any more. I could snap 50 pics to your 1.Day or night.I don't get up and down any faster than you I'm a big ol' round boy it's not hard at all to take a pic of a bass by yourself, have you ever seen any of any of my reports from Bull? Takes just a few seconds to snap a pic and release. Lip em with the right hand , take the hook out with the left, grab the cam ,snap a pic, release. Takes less than 30 seconds start to finish. my boat sits low enough to the water I just reach over the side while seated and lip em. You won't find any bass slime on my floor or net. Just walleye and catfish.
  12. if there are any conservation brush piles up that way I'd start there. a live minnow under a slip bobber has been working great on other areas of the lake
  13. really like those, man next 70 degree day we get I'm breaking out the paints, ( i paint outside)
  14. looking myself, wish I had seen this sooner, buddy of mine has one like that, she had more cracks than a old concrete sidewalk poc trailer but heck I'd still drive her , it's wayyyy better than what I have now,lol
  15. more big bites from my experience using them, I don't recall catching a bunch short fish with a 130 plopper ,
  16. have caught bass in 49 degree water during a snowstorm on a buzzbait, i don't fish TR much, but recently they have been biting a buzz on Bull in 52-57 degree water, yes, they are eating the plopper too, but not as good as the buzzer my 2 biggest bass of 2014 were caught first week of april on a homemade buzzbait, 54 degree water
  17. i wouldn't wait , try it now
  18. i'd say any time the water temps are 50+ bass will hit the topwaters..
  19. I see/hear a lot of similar reports from Table Rock and Bull Shoals. This may work on TR right now too. My last trip to Bull (yesterday) , found the largemouth and spotted bass in the warmest water I could find. 57 degrees, late afternoon/early eve, in the back of a cove with wood and a soft dark bottom. Pre spawn females were eating a buzzbait in 2- 5 fow. caught 8, had a 5 fish 14lb sac in about 30 minutes. See that full moon ,, better get out there!
  20. i think depth has a lot to do with it, so does water color. I've seen gin clear 53 degrees main lake where it's 100+fow, then I'd go all the way to the back of a cove in the same area and find 60 degrees in the shallows. Also the dirtier water warms up quicker in the sun. Those fairly shallow darker bottom mud/gravel flats are full of ditches that attract lm bass, and are usually several degrees warmer than surrounding areas. There you might find 65 degrees up shallow while a hundred yards away from that flat where its deeper it's only 60. A temp gauge is your best friend right now if you're searching for the warm water areas. Depending on nature, WT, location etc. I've seen post spawn smallies, largemouth and spots in mid April where it warmed up fast., and other bass still on the beds in mid May in other sections of the lake where it was cooler. (there's other guys on here who can explain these things much better. lol)
  21. as far as WHO goes first, then second, and third. I never believed much of it. Always thought some of that depends on what sections of the lake warmed up the quickest.
  22. http://dceaglecam.eagles.org/ live nest cam, pretty cool look at those babies, how adorable !!!! like the report Quillback, thanks man
  23. live minnows 4'-6' under a bobber are catching some nice slabs
  24. man have you been sneaking a peak at my secret tackle box??
  25. used to fish a little 13 acre pond up around St.Louis. the crappie spawn was usually on when the red buds were blooming so we always planned our trips around that time
