  1. I fished the jackhammer a decent amount last Fall. While the components, and fit/finish are "better" than the regular Z man, I don't think the Jackhammer outproduces it. I'd take 3-4 regular chatterbaits for the cost over a jackhammer, and I say that as a Brett Hite fan. I'm no cheapskate and have plenty of higher end lures, but in this case I can't justify the price difference. I really just wish Z-mans patent would run out so other companies could go back to producing their old designs...
  2. Congrats on the win buddy!
  3. Maybe I missed the info somewhere, but were any good sized smallies or spots weighed in? Just curious
  4. Tackle stores all over Southwest MO have probably already been cleared out of their crawler supply. Not sure if it's related to this but tackle warehouse is OOS on red crawlers too. OMG mass hysteria! But seriously, congrats to the winner, I don't see an issue with him giving up his secret bait. They are probably biting something else now anyway
  5. Of the rods listed I'd go Falcon all the way. The Dobyns Fury line is also in that price range and worth of consideration...
  6. Funny running in to you in Dogtown on Saturday Steve-O! Will discuss with a buddy about attending this
  7. I really wish more people had this OCD problem. I just don't understand people who can't clean up after themselves, on the water or otherwise.
  8. Hollow body frogs kill it in the river. I approach it a little different though than fishing lmb in slop of course. Smaller profile frog, bend the hooks out a bit, thrown on my "river jig" rod, 7' mh, 20-30# braid. I feel like a white or silver frog looks just as shaddy as a spook. The hookup ratio might not be quite as good as a treble hook bait but it will go more places. Throwing it on to the bank and crawling it in has produced well for me
  9. Keep the pictures and stories coming. When I'm stuck working and can't fish, I get satisfaction in the success of others! God forbid somebody post fish pics in a FISHING FORUM. I assume this whitesnoop character is just a jealous troll, or possibly off his meds
  10. So uh hey Cindyjo, when we going fishing? Or just tell me where your home is since it seems to be the 8# mecca... Seriously though, I know there are still a lot of big fish out there, it just seems the average size is down. I'm no expert, but I agree with you 100% about larger fish and deep water
  11. Ah that makes more sense
  12. I always thought the "Florida strain" of LMB was considered the one with the most size potential. Or is the River and Florida strain the same thing with a different name?
  13. Thank god. I've been getting cabin fever pretty bad, and when fishing isn't an option I start looking at fishing gear online, inevitably buying more stuff I don't really need...
  14. They work quite well, and while most people get them for security I'd bet a camera would be perfect for your application. A buddy recently got one set up on his house after some packages went missing off the porch. It even has a motion sensor on it and if there is any movement on the front porch he gets notified and can view the camera live, pretty cool stuff
  15. I must say this is a pretty good video and very informative. That said, I feel tournaments as a whole are far more detrimental to bass mortality than not fizzing them.
  16. Was reading through this thread today then just saw this: http://www.foxnews.com/great-outdoors/2018/01/17/fisherman-who-jumped-into-river-to-avoid-oncoming-motorboat-sues-helmsman.html Could've easily been a scene from LOZ. I'm all for this new legislation
  17. I like basic colors and usually stick with some variation of silver with a black back. A couple exceptions for me are pro blue in super clear water, or clown when the fish are acting aggressively.
  18. Awesome catch. You all are killing it lately, I need a day off work to get in on the action
  19. Shhh....tubes aren't cool anymore and don't work
  20. The poor boys tube is my favorite over 3". Great colors, especially road kill blues and watermelon rose
  21. Yes I should've said who dips or makes tubes
  22. As the title indicates, I'm looking for somebody who pours tubes. Specifically, I'm trying to find a match for the BPS teaser tubes in a couple of the colors no other manufacturer seems to duplicate (puke and orange roadkill) If anybody can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. The BPS teasers are great and all, but I'd rather give some business to somebody not named Johnny Morris
  23. If I'm not mistaken, the reports in the KC Star come from the MDC, which doesn't list new reports in the winter. At least I think that's he way it used to be. Much better info here or from the guys on YouTube anyway!
  24. Sad news. I'll definitely need to grab a few mouse spinners before they are gone, but other than those I've pretty much fully converted to Nichols anyway
  25. Great pictures! Though that pic of the Fireball bottle made me feel a little nauseous
