    What's Cooking?

Sounds great - not familiar with this kind of seafood blend. Can you provide a brand name?
  2. Only if they follow those OAF small game Chefs on the What's cooking thread !
  3. I have always wanted my kids to have gear that they could use for years. MOPanfisher I can't wait to see Papa and grandson photos☺!
  4. I will add that when you are fishing a known location with a seasonal run fish, e.g., white bass below a dam, I don't see an issue with posting location, methods, photos, and other details. You will not be the one that discovered that fishery. There are going to be crowds. I feel that you might as well help others that want to catch a meal or two.
  5. Seems like a situation on getting what you give. I have only been checked a few times locally. Mostly during the catch and keep at our urban trout lake and some when the crappie bite is on at one of our lakes. Even though there are regulations about having separate stringers or names on stringers, I have never had a problem when mixing fish on a stringer when we have made the effort to identify our fish. Usually that will be one of us clipping the tail or one of the fins and the other leaving their fish intact. Being courteous and respectful and showing the agent that you know the regs are trying to comply goes a long way. About the ice fishing, I have a crazy idea to possibly try for musky. I just started looking at hand drills. Not sure a 6" auger bit is large enough. Also I don't want to injure the fish, so have to really research the best way to rig the baits. May just ne a fantasy.

    What's Cooking?

Made ham and potato hash for breakfast. Used leftover ham from Xmas dinner. Had a mixed variety of fingerling potatoes (had pinks, purples, yukons, etc in the mix) that I diced and cooked in a little bacon fat (haven't been able to meet up with my goose fat supplier). Once the potatoes were browning, I added minced garlic and diced shallots. Also added some dried oregano., S&P, and smoked paprika. Covered to let the potatoes to cook through then added the diced ham. Served it topped with an over easy egg and a drizzle of Cholula hot sauce☺.
  7. I am assuming that you guys are at the Lets go Fishing event in Collinsville. Didn't know about this show until I looked it up this morning. Not sure I would convince my Betterhalf to brave the potential bad weather today to come out from Columbia. Hope that you are having a good event.
  8. So is that a yard of fish or a meter ! Congrats Dan.

I figured that I didn't need the photo after I bought a box.
  11. Can't wait to see some of the trout they catch. Thanks Phil.

    What's Cooking?

Nope. I took this last night. The one you sent me has been deleted from my phone. I would have posted it if I still had it. Sorry buddy.
  13. Hey if you find out where to get those signs let me know I could use them. I haven't seen many deer in the spots I have been hunting lately.

    What's Cooking?

Last night we had cod, fried mushrooms, and spinach. I seasoned the fish with S&P, fresh lemon juice, a light coating of ranch dressing, and topped with tarragon. Baked at 375 until the meat begins to flake and the topping was brown. I picked up some oyster mushrooms from our local Asian market and coated them with a special coating that I learned from a poster from this forum. Not confirming if this really is the special coating ! Not likely that the poster will tell me anymore secret recipes (... Terrierman). Spinach was just sauted, S&P, and a little garlic powder. Since I used all of our ranch on the fish, I found a recipe and we made our own dressing for the mushrooms !
  15. Griz thanks for posting. Very inspirational. Makes me consider about how am I living lately and whether I am the best that I can be each day. A lot to think about.
  16. That must mean that people were cleaning out any and all fish that they caught. I'll admit though drastic it's probably better for the diversity on the reef. Does make for a better snorkelling and diving experience.
  17. Now I know who to blame when I go to RRSP and there are people fishing in my pool. Thanks a lot! You even got the state to call it a trout park. Now everyone knows you can catch trout there. What's next are they going to post signs on what types of lures and bait that they will bite like in this section use flies only?!? Thats almost as bad as MODOT putting up those deer crossing signs in the spot where the deer can get hit by cars. Never understood why they don't move the deer crossings to a safer place for the deer. ☺
  18. I watched this one the other night - Sutherland, Nimoy, Goldblum, Adams, and Cartwright.
  19. You're not the only one on this forum whose mother has a Koi pond. There's a fly fisherman on here that has caught some of her koi as well☺.
  20. Ness are getting a bunch of heroes to grab some Nazi gold? You'll need a tank☺.
  21. Just think what you could have done with a Barbi zebco rod and reel and a little squid while snorkelling☺.

    What's Cooking?

I don't believe that we have any restaurants around us that still make there own potstickers. I can't seem to get an authentic recipe. Maybe I need to buy more HiDEF craws☺!
  23. Thanks for the invite RPS. It would be an honor to fish with you. I should know whether I can make it down in March in the next couple of weeks.
  24. Those are very nice winter bass. You made the right decision to tough out the cold. Congrats!

    What's Cooking?

We like all kinds of peas. Fresh sugar peas are our favorites followed by snow peas. Frozen peas can be tricky. I seem to always looking over my shoulder as I am eating frozen peas☺.
