    What's Cooking?

Only Old bay in the water. Shrimp were cooked then cooled. Once they were cold, we mixed them with the onion/celery, mayo, etc...

    What's Cooking?

One of our lighter dishes lately. Cleaned and cooked the shrimp in water seasoned with some Old Bay. Mixed with diced celery and onion, chopped fresh dill from our little herb garden, dash of fish sauce, garlic powder, tablespoon of mayo, S&P, and a little more Old Bay. Placed on top of romaine with a drizzle of aged balsamic them some fresh lime juice on top.

    What's Cooking?

From a few weekends ago. Not great photos. May need to clean my phone lens. Handpicked. the ones that we did not eat directly went into a balsamic strawberry jam! Very tasty in moderation of course !
  4. Would love to see the Blues bring the Stanley cup to the Midwest. Regardless of the final outcome of the series congrats to them getting off the schneid and breaking their 0fer winning streak in the finals.
  5. No one has talked about the games thus far. Tale of two cities can describe the Blues performances thus far- the worst of times and the best of times. Their 4 to 2 victory evened up the series. I watched the first two periods of game four (need my beauty sleep). Noticed a lot of energy from the Blues whereas the Bruins looked flat. Probably tired from the game 3 beatdown of the Blues. Last night the Blues spent a lot of time with the puck in Boston's zone and Rask looked beatable. Several times he was out of position and got lucky that the puck wasn't on net. Who knows which teams will show up in game 5. I am hoping for last night's Blues team. I feel that this series is likely to go 7 games, but hope the Blues win in 6😁.
  6. Agree on the Happy Gilmore movie. I also really liked Grown ups. Not the second one.
  7. That is a giant crane creek trout! Congrats! That would be a great fish most anywhere else. But from that small creek it is a toad!
  8. Congrats! The guide should never divulge surprise when a trip goes well😁. Sounds like a great trip and a fine smallmouth.
  9. Not sure what is new about the aging procedures. Otolith aging has been done for decades. Maybe just pairing the otolith and the carbon dating. It is a concern that the population has not reproduced well over an 80 year period. That brings up a lot of questions about what may be going on in those lakes and river systems. More likely dead. Unless they found a way to extract otoliths from live fish and return them, these fish were sacrificed before the otolith was removed.
  10. Why was the guy with the camera riding near the bow in those conditions? Unless he was thrown forward. If not they both could qualify as a dumb@$$!
  11. Looks like she has been at the buffet 😂. That fish has some girth. Must be a shad belly.
  12. I've tried to fly on a few occasions but never seem to get distracted enough not to hit the ground 😂!
  13. Awesome page. Now I need to catch a Taney trout worthy to get on the board. I did notice that Larry Scott's 24-inch rainbow looks like a brown trout.
  14. Great book by the way ! Loved all five books in the Hitchhiker's trilogy!
  15. Good Luck RPS. Hope to continue to see dishes on the cooking thread.
  16. Ok you two just keep rubbing it in !
  17. QB that is a great mixed bag of fish buddy! Congrats on a great day. Jealous about that gar.

    Sculpin IPA

QB. I have had this IPA. Actually liked it.
  19. Congrats buddy on the fish you did catch. For that size gar you may need to get one of those gator gar lassos. Musky cradle may just complicate things and i don't think you could use one effectively solo. Also I would be concerned about whether a gar would get its teeth hung in the cradle. That would be a mess.
  20. Sweet looking craws! Can't wait to see what you catch with them!
  21. Just so that folks know what to look for...
  22. Nice report. Sounds like dealing with the water conditions are tougher than the fishing.

    DANG Ness!! Looks great.
  24. Just have to love brown trout!
  25. @Quillback I keep seeeing "The Goal" photo of Bobby Orr the lastime the Bruins played and beat the Blues in the cup finals. To get over that I had to watch highlights of the 85 basketball finals😜
