  1. I will have to admit I was one of those linkers that read the forums often. I didn't contribute because I didn't have a boat and I wasn't going fishing, but I like to fish and used to a lot. Now I have bought another boat and use the tackle from 20 years ago at least at this point. I need to go to the tackle shop with some of you guys so you can point me in the right direction since most baits are designed to catch fishermen.
  2. Guess you're right Mike. Champ it was neck surgery nerve root was stretch and right arm was dead for a while. Coming back and working to get it there. Thanks to the encouraging words.
  3. Took my Dad fishing today first time I have been on any lake since back in the spring. Got in the water about 830. Ran up to point five and saw some smaller fish busting the top every once in a while. Fished in little Indian and back to the dam. I tried a Sammy, blade, rattle trap, jig, Ned and about anything else you could think of. I couldn't throw the blade of crankbait very many times in a row shoulder isn't strong enough to wind them back in very well. Dad caught a dink on a ned and I had several bites on a PBJ jig with Green Pumpkin zoom craw. I was too slow and couldn't set the hook with authority. To tell you how I tried everything, I even flipped a spoon in some boat docks slips and I don't like a spoon Spoke to some guys at the ramp that said they had caught a few all on a jig. Sorry wish I had a better report but that's all I have Thanks again last night for the chat room at least it gave me some ideas to try Happy Fishing Jim
  4. Thanks to everyone who was in the chat room tonight and for the info they gave. Hope to catch a few tomorrow and post all about it
  5. Thanks Quill
  6. I'm ready to learn something
  7. Nice fish and the Redbirds win. That's kind of a two-fer
  8. We have been camped at Peel for five days. Rode across the ferry yesterday and at least one campsite on the point at Buck Creek was under water. Boats here have been launching from the road that leads to the marina parking lot which is under water. Water came over the base of the sun dial yesterday. We were told to expect another five feet of rise before it leveled off. When we can in Sunday we had to come through the Wagon Wheel resort between the cabins to get to the campsites Just if anyone was interested
  9. Heck we are at Peel now and have been for about 5 days. I had to leave the boat at home due to neck surgery on June 2nd. Boats are being launched from the road that leads to the marina parking lot. Hasn't been much boat traffic this week and it appears the lake is coming up close to a foot every 24 hours. We were told mid week that it should only come up another 5' or so. Hope that helps anyone who was interested. My buddies are in the back of the creeks and fields trying to rid the lake of game fish killers every night. They are bowfishing smacking carp and gar

  11. 24/7 do you own a dock or resort in the Big Creek or Peel area of Bull? I'm kind of new in here and was just wondering. We camp at Peel several times in the summer and I don't know that area of the lake very well. I have fished Peel to Tucker a lot in the past, but just bought a boat last summer after several years without one.
  12. Great report Bill. Wish I could get out and try some of these things now but I just can't now. I keep checking the Bull Shoals forum but not much being passed or told. I know Bull is 12+ up now. Wish that forum had as much traffic as this one. Keep fishing and posting folks I enjoy reading all the stuff going on and hopefully soon I will be able to participate more
  13. Summer of 2013 was bowfishing with a buddy and we ran into two different spoonbills in the Lead Hill area. There was no doubt as to what they were. They were right at the boat and less than 2 feet deep under the lights.
  14. Those look really good.
