Was that the Moreau family that your speaking of? If so, why did it take them 5 months to speak out? Sounds fishy to me. I think you can find better witnesses than those, if thats who your speaking of. If not, who?

Stick to your worms and timber. Early and late, fish in that 12' and under depth. The water has good clarity so any color in a green or purple should do. Either a C-Rig with 2' leader or Texas Rig would be my choice. What area are you staying?

Welcome. If your move from the west to the midwest was to continue your trout quest, let me be the first to say, there are no trout east of Kansas. We are a strickly bass region of the US. If you need pointers to turn your trout gear into heavy, stiff, bass tackle, this is a good place to start. Just tie on a Ned rig and enjoy the bass. P.S. The bass in this part of the world taste alot like trout, so catch, filet, and enjoy.

Caught this guy at 8:20 this evening on TR fishing a 10" worm on a jig.
