How do you get down those deck steps to pet the goats?
-
Well, that happens with some fishermen also. Met a guy at the ramp last week who was taking out after a night trip as i launched at 6am. I asked if he did any good, and he said “it was pretty slow”. As soon as i said i had a pretty good morning the morning before, he started pumping his story about how great his night was. I just fired up the 250 and slowly left the dock.
-
After i get this finished, that is my plan. I use a pop up currently but going to build an elevated 5’ x 8’ insulated blind for those cold mornings.
-
Got the roof on, wire around the bottom section, and metal on the gable. Ran out of wire. Should have it done after work tomorrow. I overhung the metal 5” over so it has a pretty good overhang to keep that water deflected. Will probably add gutters. P.S. See, her “helping me” today was sitting on the 4 wheeler making sure it looked straight.

Doug, Shhhhh Oh wait, this is ummm Dallas, Polk, Cedar, Dade county where permits haven’t been invented yet.

Being a construction guy daily, it is a pretty simple task. I really think if she wasn’t “helping me” i could have done it in 2. 😁

Well, a guy a few miles away that was moving needed his gone last week, so i did the redneck temporary chicken coop. Wrapped wire around the trampoline and BAM, instant coop. So i was kinda forced to build this thing.
-
It has been several years since we have had any chickens, and with her shooting those subtle hints to me more frequently the past year, i guess it was time to give in to her, once again. I have 3 hours in framing this 10’ x 10’ pen. It will have a 4’ x 6’ walk in roost/nest box area. I put a 10” overhang all the way around. Tomorrow i will put the metal on the roof, wire on the sides, and build the roost wednesday. Got 10 chickens so this should be a comfortable space for them. They will free range in our 3/4 acre fenced back yard during the day.

Thanks oneshot. We like it here. Had a much larger farm that we sold. Like you, i wish i still had the place. I could get lost there. My neighbor who owns the 60 next to me came over this spring asking if i mind if he trimmed some of the trees on the fence line. I told him I didn’t mind, as it is as much his fence as mine. He said the guy we bought the place from told him he would rather him not trim them up. They trimmed 3 trees total that made it easier for me to see into his pasture and his pond that the deer frequent. He also told me that i could hunt his land if i wanted to. We burned that big brush pile you see in the picture last Saturday, and cut some new atv trails thru the woods. Sprayed that area too, and will be discing and seeding the foodplot next weekend

Who asked you? If it was your wife, i would be checking for a newly acquired life insurance policy that she has taken out on you.

Won't be long until we have to tell them goodbye.

Our numbers have been the negative the past week. We were seeing 20 or so at a time, and yesterday morning i only seen 4 out on feeders. Love those little birds. We have had a cool experience the past 2 years tho. The hummingbird moths have been active in the flowers below the feeders. -
Launched at 6am out of Cedar Ridge. Started at the point in Maze and had my first fish on the second cast, a chunky 16” on top. Caught a few more largemouth and smallies in the first 150 yards, all in 5’ or shallower. Moved up on the same bank switching over to a drop shot, and caught several more smallies and largemouths. Best today for my 2 hours out was almost 18”. I had 6 keepers total, 5 largemouth and 1 smallie. Total of 13 bass. All drop shot fish came off of timber. Here are my typical go to drop shot colors. The past few weeks I can’t get bit on anything but the Morning Dawn color. They love that color early in the day.

I know it’s just small acreage, but this little acre in the timber makes me feel good every time i brush hog it, or fill the feeder. My quiet area.

Depends on the day.

With the things i see you post, you must not have a pound of fat on your body, unlike myself and the fatty things i post.

Sometimes it’s just worth it to start replacing things on an older boat. Switches are one of those. Bilge pumps/aerator is another.

One way just the white light should work, opposite way both lights should function.

Careful admitting to not being able to get it up anymore.

My daughter just bought a house 2 blocks south of ya. Drive by and wave at ya, but you wouldn’t know it. 😁

Have chatted with Mark and Tilly twice at events. He and his family are by far my favorite people in this game. Just a down home, southern Ark. hick. Their 3 boys are pretty decent with a stick too. That Tilly sure does stay busy with keeping his fans updated.
