A buddy of mine from KC is over in England judging that country’s roller fliers for a few weeks. Today they had some down time so released some homers 250 miles away. Here is the updated version of the one you posted. You can see todays date and the time they were released and the time they made it back home and trapped.

I’ve bought a few of those to replace whatever came on tin boats i have purchased. Never a single problem out of any of them.

That’s an oldie for sure. Some of the older racing pigeon guys still have them as nostalgia. Pretty cool find at a yard sale. Thanks for sharing. Us roller guys just use our stopwatch on our phone.

Share when you can.

I spent many nights at that ramp as a deputy just waiting for the criminals to arrive late at night. Did catch 1 guy at 3am. He was beating on his own truck tho. Pissed at his lady so took it out on his own truck.

Haha. I used to frequent it pretty often myself. Used to live 10 minutes away. Catching was great for the guys. I didn’t fish it due to family commitments. I did launch and weigh them in. First was 19.5 lbs. 2nd was over 15. Over 12 for 3rd. Those are solo weights as we are a solo angler club. All 4 fish limit. 7.1 big fish.

Little chilly this morning at Bolivar Landing. Truck said 41. Perfect weather to have our club tournament.

Anyone have wire cages laying around? Really interested in multi-hole cages. 2x3x18” or so each hole.

Watching the MLF live today on LOZ, plenty of bass still moving up on all of the lakes around us. The next few days of warmer temps will push most up.

Friday Funny Time!!! Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Bob. So they loaded up Jack's minivan and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. So they pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady who answered he door if they could spend the night. "I realize it's terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I'm recently widowed," she explained. "I'm afraid the neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house." "Don't worry," Jack said. "We'll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light." The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night. Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their way. They enjoyed a great weekend of skiing. But about nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an attorney. It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend. He dropped in on his friend Bob and asked, "Bob, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up north about 9 months ago?" "Yes, I do." said Bob "Did you, er, happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the house and pay her a visit?" "Well, um, yes," Bob said, a little embarrassed about being found out "I have to admit that I did." "And did you happen to use my name instead of telling her your name?" Bob's face turned beet red and he said, "Yeah, look, I'm sorry, buddy. I'm afraid I did." "Why do you ask?" "She just died and left me everything."

Appreciate it. I don’t mind feeding the deer, it’s the better halfs mongrel chickens that I’m attempting to keep out. Our yard is fenced, so the deer will have to jump both to get in. I keep enough corn out for them that they never ventured into the yard past 2 years.

Man BH, that was like reading one of the old time magazines from Field and Stream years ago. Very easy to follow and informative. Nicely done. I have never heard of the group, and after reading still not sure of the details of those that participated. Is this something you could share? If not in public you can PM me.

2 buddies out there yesterday that caught limits in 2 hours up shallow. Most had eggs.

Had our club tournament yesterday. We had 18 boats. I was very surprised at the lack of weight brought in. Only took 9.15 to win and 3.15 for big fish. I didn’t fish it as i coach my boys baseball team and we had a game, but did launch and weigh them in. Really thought there would be a few bags close to 16 pounds and big fish of 6 as we had a few local hammers fishing with us. We run solo so 1 angler per boat with a 4 fish limit, but this time of year i really thought more would happen. Perfect weather for catching hogs.

Update video with these gems. At about the 3 second mark you can see them rolling together as a group, which is what you want. At the end of the video watch the black bird on the far left. You will see her rolling at the end. Started out with 25, and down to 17. Hawks are the devil for us pigeon guys. I’m buying some breeders from a guy next month, so will be able to replenish what i loose yearly. IMG_8893.MOV

Tournament this Saturday out of Masters on Stockton. 6:30 to 2:30. 100% payback for entry and big bass. $50 entry, $10 optional BB. Solo series so 1 angler per boat. See ya at the ramp.

That lake has more guides than fish. Here is a short list to get ya started. Jason Conn. he is a professional fisherman and guide. Nice equipment. $550 full day, $400 half day. He is all over social media for contact. Good dude. Probably your best bet for a double digit fish. Michael Samples. Another fun guy. (903) 474-4983 Jay Bonner. Had a good chat with him at the place we stayed. Cool guy and easy going. (940) 205-7804 James Caldemeyers. (903) 736-9888 For crappie i would suggest Brandon at Grey Beard Guide Service. See lots of good stuff about them. (903) 440-1313

I’ve put a Maxxum on a few of my aluminum rigs over the years. Never had a single issue with any of them. I’ve got a Fortrex as my back up motor when i go out of state that i take, just in case the Ultrex has fits when I’m away. So far the Ultrex has been 100% perfect.

That’s for sure BH. Luckily the little lady likes to do these things, so i let her do what she wants. She pours out the old every morning and refills them daily before work. Last year we had more wasps eating out of them than HB’s. She changed up the feeders this year to those type in the video. Single spout on each VS multiple flowers on each feeder like before. She is able to stick these to the windows and get up and personal with them.

While we were sitting down eating lunch now my little guy spotted it at the window feeder. 1st one of the season. IMG_8864.MOV

We talked about this when we fished that tournament. Sucks just as bad now reading it as it did a few years ago. Glad you’re back to ornery.
