  1. Let the games begin... Beautiful night tonight. We're pumped to go chase the sea monsters.
  2. Awesome, stars aligned, heading out here in a bit. See ya tomorrow!
  3. Yeah gonna throw jerks exclusively I think. 2 new spools of braid, and "special" lures I'm hoping do the trick. Should have good water tonight for it, with just a bit of flow I hope. Struggling with do I pinch barbs or not lol... Likely I will and take chances. Phil you're gonna have to cheat a bit for your bday too! Fresh out the oven...
  4. Just a placeholder for now... Never let a good B-day go to waste LOL! My lovely bride said I should make a day of it and head down to once again fish my favorite water, and celebrate with a really awesome guy to boot . My buddy and I will be down around 11:00PM or so tonight and will be fishing through till tomorrow before we head back in to STL. If anyone would care to tag along just shoot me a PM and we'll get synced up.
  5. Thanks mbkwrh for another great report! Those are some great looking fish to boot! I am a creature of the night as well, and totally get the moment when the water is flat like glass and you see that big V pushing towards your lure, or hear the splash in the fog on top and set the hook. Gets the blood pumping for sure. Thanks for sharing, hopefully one of these nights our paths will cross.
  6. Sounds like an awesome Bday! Looks like those kiddos had a blast! Beautiful family you got there.
  7. Looks great and are those the body of lure that had the awesome side to side swim action? Those are gonna put fish in the boat for sure.
  8. Awesome report! I've been rigging up the trout magnet floats with the little glow in the dark vials for a while now to make a great night time float. Have some of the smaller glow in the dark after you charge them with a light ones too for when the waters off. I almost always fish white or tan SJW's under them, when we're not stripping white. Glad you guys got into them! Glad your kiddo was able to twist that arm too! Thanks for sharing.
  9. Happy B-day Phil! What time is this shendig starting and stopping on Wednesday? May have to make another weekday run down to celebrate LOL. Also do you like cheesecake the wife asks? If I don't make it down I'll get ya a raincheck on the cheesecake but if I can swing it I got to get back to slinging the Doty tackle!
  10. Looks killer buddy! What are you doing next Wednesday morning lol...
  11. Maybe a shot of Blue on the chin! Man can't wait to see your pattern on a lure buddy. And hey you got a Rainbow and a stinking bass in that picture post above... Immediate disqualification of your claims on actually catching brown trout!
  12. Bottom one looks spot on buddy. Maybe a hair more darker or muddier brown, but the mottle effect looks great! Can't wait to see one!
  13. Yeah they are super helpful, decent prices, wall to wall tackle, and a great selection of live bait too for those that need it. Like supporting the locals too...
  14. Bullseye out in O'fallon does good work as well. Right at 70 and hwy K.
  15. Nice job man! That's a beauty, and congrats on the release too. Wish I could of made it down, but had plans change last minute... How's your jerk bait adventure going too?
  16. So one of my last trips down to taneycomo with my brother in law we spent a night in the ER... Now he's a tough ol bird and will usually cut or push them through, but this one caught him in the side of his finger, buried down to the eye with just a tiny part of the tip poking out from under his fingernail... We tried getting it pushed through, but there just wasn't enough shank to get it moving. So off to the hospital at some wee hour in the morning we went. As we joked about how much this fish was gonna cost him we finally got back to a room and after numbing him up we're able to cut it out. So now his insurance company wanted to try to recoup some costs I guess and was looking for a 3rd party to blame, or find a way to workman's comp it. They sent him a form and he decided to have some fun with them when he sent it in. Kind of hard to read but he basically said it's the fish at fault, good luck finding him... His name is spot and he's got a hole in his right cheek lol. He even sent them a pic (although not of the same fish)! Can't wait to see their response
  17. I'll have to play it by ear... Heading down this weekend I think. But might be able to swing back to back trips... I'll let ya know.
  18. John caught a window to go fish today, and I'm glad I got to spend time with him and his daughter Liv again while they were here in MO. We had been texting throughout the week and finally settled on the current River as our destination. Me and the kiddo Departed the house around 430 this morning and hit down to Baptist around 7. We walked down in front of the bathrooms and Kierstin caught a really pretty rainbow on her second or third cast. Sadly for the rest of us that would be the first and last trout caught on this short morning trip... We went up to Parker hollow and John showed me some great looking water. Only thing I caught was the far bank, and rained down tackle and jigs like I was burning money lol. Had some nice follows, and a few bumps. Caught a shad and some other chub looking fish that John said would make Ham jealous lol... We had a BBQ we had to get to today so we Departed around 1030 to get back home in time... As always the girls had a blast together. Liv was chasing micros and catching them by hand too! Hopefully John can add his perspective too! Even though fish didn't cooperate, had a great time with great company!
  19. Give me a shout if you need a stellar( and by that I mean Sub-par) net man LOL I too will be capitalizing on a light weekend schedule and try to squeeze in a few more trips down.
  20. Those are gonna catch you some fish for sure! Can't wait to see your report Travis.
  21. Apparently there is a right and wrong way to create polarized lenses... My buddy makes mine for me at his Eye Doc shop, and theres def some wizardry beyond my level of comprehension that goes into making them. I've bought cheap polarized lenses before and they about made me sick after wearing them. Major distortion and just made me feel dizzy. The ones he made on the other hand are perfect with no difference to my depth perception at all. I also am blessed with perfect vision for now at least, so you guys with cheaters may notice it allot more...
  22. Hmm Not sure on that one? He was just a little guy, but to me at least looked like the run of the mill walleye. Are there Sauger in Table Rock? Can't say I have ever caught one of those.
  23. We had an excellent guide, just fish that were non cooperative lol. We'll get back down there for sure. I'd need a full day minus tag alongs to fish it hard core lol. But the girls had a blast so really that's all that matters. Apparently we both torture our children on the car rides back in similar fashion hahahaha. No sleeping in my car! Makes em tough lol
  24. Haha, I resemble that remark! I am a growing boy lol! Oh Marty he did come in the proper way on the fly rod lol
  25. Dang that's a chunker there! Beautiful fish too! Nice job.
