  1. Beauty there Al. Hope you feel better and glad you were still able to get out there and get than one.
  2. Dang, glad you got it fixed. Hopefully that thorough overhaul gives you many more trouble free hours on it now.
  3. Just be careful who ya bunk with at jig fest this year buddy!
  4. Lol, now ya tell me 😛 I had a good 4 or 5 inch rectangular chunk of it somewhere... Between me and my girls when we moved last year I had over 150lbs of rocks that moved with us lol My middle daughter has rocks from 20 different states already and knows where each of them came from... Her favorite Christmas gift this past year was a rock tumbler lol
  5. Agree with what the others have stated, I've been a part of other forum environments, but this one will always be special. I too have met some truly remarkable and great people from this site. The knowledge that I have gained has made me a much better fisherman and person as well. Phil's done a truly great thing in bringing us altogether. Not too many other forms would I say hey let me go meet a total stranger at night, hop in his truck then ride around in a boat with him all weekend... Or say hey this stranger has kids, I have kids, let's get them together and go wander in a creek in the woods fishing with them... Gives me faith that there's still some good people in this world despite all the other daily crap and noise that's shoved in our faces every day called news.
  6. Dang! That's beautiful work there again my friend. I think a weekend workshop at a certain so and so's location is in order lol Being a rockhound when I was younger I have some obsidian around somewhere that I though would always be cool to make into a point. Many hours spent as a younger kids trying to chip glass with small hammers and chisels... Wish I would of stuck with it, but without the internet back then I was limited on finding out the how to do it. I mostly ended up with smaller pieces of obsidian and picking shards out of my bleeding fingers lol.
  7. Can't imagine facing off with one of these with primitive weapons... What size round for short faced bear!
  8. Sorry I must have missed that. I was in the process of switching my cell carriers this weekend, I wonder if that had something to do with it... I'll give ya a call this evening once I get out of work. As of right now I'll be getting down to Taney sometime Thursday evening.
  9. I have a gopro but it stinks for night time lol. I will fully admit my first couple trips to taney I fished the outlets quite a bit. I'll even still mess around by them sometimes. Fished them and thought man I'm a trout catching stud. I'm glad they are there too, and it's cool to see the fish there as well. I'm not gonna judge anyone fishing there, but with so much other great areas and stretches of water to fish I just don't get the appeal of standing there shoulder to shoulder all day. I get more worked up with the folks mishandling fish and the floaters I see going down steam from there... dnj21 if you decide to come down maybe we'll cross paths. Hoping to meet up with fishndoug at some point this weekend.
  10. Thats a pretty Bow buddy. Stinks the big brownies didn't cooperate. I appreciate ya leaving them in there for me this weekend though LOL Sounds like a great trip regardless, and time spent on the water with family is always special.
  11. A few years ago the outlets were so packed with fish I saw some of them in there that looked like they had confetti all up and down their backs. Guys were fouling them left and right. Still dont get the whole stand there all day next to the outlets. I do fish around them, but mainly when we're messing around, or if the younger kiddos are with me and we need a slumpbuster. I haven't seen any big ones around the outlets for a few years now. Used to see a few big ones every year that would cruise around by them, but lately not so much. Would catch some in the evenings that would venture out of the outlets and had one that I pulled 3 flies out of him...
  12. Nice work buddy! My late uncle was into primitive hunting, made his own recurve and such. Truly an artform, and your work is awesome as always to see.
  13. What size hooks are ya using? I grabbed some of the ones above. Hopefully they get here in time for me to bring to ya Can't beat $.99 thats crazy. Even if you stripped the split rings and hooks off them, you'd still come out ahead...
  14. Yay! I'm sure we can cover ya on the food side buddy.
  15. Get em buddy! Break that 20in curse on a sea monster tomorrow for me will ya! Nice bow though. Those tanks are fun to catch.
  16. Yeah... have an app I've been trying to cook up too that does something similar... sadly lost my developer and been crazy busy. I know a little bit of code, but if anyone wants to hop on in and join the fun let me know. App would of worked great in that instance...
  17. I'm pretty certain they get posted on the Facebook page daily. I end up watching them on blocks off YouTube.
  18. Wife sent me the facebook link since I don't FB, but man nice job on that catch. Check out the OneCast guys for those that may not FB like myself. She sure was a pretty one. "No Ruler" Gotta love it... Any guesses on length? 23-25?
  19. I'm coming Thursday and will be leaving Sunday as well! Can't wait. If yee haw means Riley's then that's where I want to be staying lol.
  20. Saw a baby duck get eaten by a big fish at LOZ when I was younger... Amazing video. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Wow, that's awesome man, very nice. One day after the kiddos are out of the house I will get back to the woods. Do you ever get tired of fishing lol? I would flat wear myself out having that for a backyard...
  22. Man that one's got some spots! Nice rainbow pic too! Is that off your deck? If so I am even more jealous than I was before LOL.
  23. Good looking pup there! Cute little fur baby.
  24. My engineering brain has really enjoyed this thread( sorry for the misfortune though Champ ). Hope you guys can get this figured out! Wrench hopefully your " This is gonna be a fun one" quote is not the same as mine. Last one involved 4 hours under a truck to find and finally replace a $28 crankshaft position sensor... I did find out why the dealerships all wanted $400 to replace though...
  25. Awesome! I'll shoot ya a PM with my cell. So far I'll be flying solo this trip, always prefer to buddy up at night though LOL. Dang! Well good luck with that Buddy, hope you stick into a big one. You're buying the White Castles next trip if you win
