  1. Nice colors on those fishes. Wonder why they all seem so dark, and those red ears do almost look like they have crappie pattern to them. Glad you can get out and do some fishing even though you're away from home. looks like a beautiful little spot there.
  2. That is just insane... I've seen Fallcreek rip through there before, but nothing like that. Can't believe those cars made it through that gulley and into the lake.
  3. Saw today they dropped generation a bit, looks like combined release is finally below 10k. Any reasoning behind this?
  4. That one looks like he's been eating very well. At least you don't have to worry about rodents... Def not cool with the kiddos in the AO.
  5. Dang! Thats a nice trip indeed! Can't wait to try them fries out myself!
  6. Way to get after it John and Liv! Looks like a nice little spot there.
  7. Thats Awesome news! A few more days to go... Got the itch. Was worried with the recent rains they may have kept it at 20k or increased.
  8. Man that's horrible. Thanks for the additional info Phil.
  9. Hope every ones safe down there... sounds like a car went into fall creek? http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/metro/dead-missing-after-flooding-in-branson-mo/article_d8f5a2f9-5f86-5dde-8f85-9f6eb0938e3b.html
  10. look what showed up today! Amazing work to see in person. Pics don't do them justice. Thanks again Mr. And Mrs. BH!
  11. Really is an awesome thread. I absolutely love wood working and also small scale painting... Just wish I had the time... I need to pick up some balsa and hooks as I've had an idea in my head for making some topwater beetles for a while utilizing balsa instead of foam.
  12. Using 10lb braid on my sticks and cranks for this type of fishing. I've fished them on 4lb as well and never noticed any difference on catch rates.
  13. Nice report and awesome vid as usual PW. Thanks for sharing
  14. Saw this guy at our local pond. I'm pretty good usually with snake ID but could use some help here. He has a more triangular shaped head than what I'm used to seeing on water snakes, but his eyes looked wrong for a venemous snake. Plus his tail markings threw me too. Maybe 2.5 ft long? I was thinking juvenile moccasin, but not sure. Had no fear of us, but was not aggressive.
  15. Good to know. I caught a walleye a few years back that had what looked like a broken back that healed with a weird bend in him. Caught another eye who had a few of his fins ripped off. Heck of a ride for those fish coming over!
  16. Yep, Love the variety after these types of events, although I'd never wish the downsides on anyone that the flooding causes... Hoping I can duplicate your success next week! Wonder what will happen with that spoonbill? Never seen one with a broken nose like that, although I have seen dead ones before on Taney.
  17. They still pushing 30k Phil? Any word on when they might start stepping back? Prolly sometime this summer I'll be down weekend after next.
  18. Looks like some awesome days there Seth, and thats a beautiful Brownie!

  20. With the water flowing like it is you will be limited. You may be able to wade out a bit from the bank, but be careful. You'll be able to fish around the outlets some, but they will be crowded. Best bet with this much flow would be go see Phil and rent a boat. If you are fishing spinning gear, I'd recommend starting from the bank, or if you absolutely have to get in the water wade out a bit, from up at the cable by the dam, and work your way down. Good luck and welcome to OA
  21. Kiddos and myself are all rock hounds. Our little creeks we frequent also had some fast water events, and they've been finding tons of fossils. My oldest found a rock full of like 7 or 8 different fossils. Mostly Crinoids and other fauna, but the last storms really turned over some awesome rocks. Still hoping I can find some arrow heads. I have never found one in the wild...
  22. Dang BH those look amazing! Can't wait to try them out, and sore mouth some fish with em. I chased a big smallie last week and threw the tackle box at him getting only a few follows and a swipe at my leech... I think I'll hit up his hole first thing in the morning and run one of these guys by him! Thanks again! Really appreciate it.
  23. You all made me LOL for real today! You guys keep them wives spoiled. Happy wife, happy life.
  24. Thank you BH and Mrs. BH! I'm in shock as I'm mostly know for of I didn't have bad luck if have no luck and honestly probably the first thing I've won in a decade lol! Thanks for doing this and I can't wait to try these suckers out!
