  1. QB, thanks for the information. I am gonna try Satruday morning in the dam area. Weather report indicates it may be raining until around 8am so maybe I can get a couple of hours of fishing in without worrying about the jet skis and pleasure boaters. I am hopeing to see a TW bite early and then throw that Keitech and c-rig to see what bites. Mike
  2. ABK, I'm gonna try to get out Saturday morning around Jakes Creek. I hope it is raining so the pleasure boaters stay off the water for a bit. Mike
  3. rps, nice catch. Healthy looking fish. Mike
  4. Pepe, your story is a great reminder of hte blessings we all have. Thank you for sharing Mike
  5. I did not hear about the eye witnesses either. So if there were witnesses who saw him fall out of the boat and thrashing in the water, then I also retract my earlier comment. Sad story. Mike
  6. ABK, nice pictures coming from someone else's cove. lol Do you and Alex keep moving them back and forth from cove to cove? Just wondering. This coming weekend it looks like cooler temps with some rain. I think I will venture out Saturday morning. Maybe the rain will keep the wake boats and jet skis off the water until 9am. Mike
  7. Bill, I too being retired from law enforcement thought that it remains a possibility even though I hope that it is not. I also am concerned that if he drowned, his body is found by someone who can emotionally handle the discovery. It won't be a pretty sight. Mike
  8. Here is an idea that is out of the box......it appears that the mortality rate is highest in the summer months. It also appears that larger tournaments want the exposure for the sponsors, fans, etc at a weigh-in. Most, if not all of these large tournaments obtain regatta permits from the government agency who issues them. Surely we here in MO can approach the government agency and try to have a black out period where no regatta permits are issued during those months where the mortality rates are highest. Or maybe the regatta permits for those tournaments during the hottest months limit the number of fish in a livewell as Browning Collector suggested. I think that everyone is in agreement about preserving the resource. Mike
  9. OMR, nice picture.
  10. Cheese, nice fish. You must go to the same gym that I go to. lol Mike
  11. Sprint, that is a priceless picture and it should go in a frame. The smile tells the whole story. Thanks for sharing. Mike
  12. Sprint, thanks for the update. Why are you holding the kid's fish? lol Mike
  13. Bill, someone told me that Cape Fair's facebook page mentioned a fish kill up in the James River. I don't do facebook so I could not confirm. Is there any truth to it happening? Mike
  14. There is so many ways people are gonna' go regarding your answer. lol Mike
  15. Bill, on the real one in the picture is that an orange/yellow tint or just the sun making it look that way? Mike
  16. bobby b, the Dixie is a flutter spoon. I use it around docks or when I see bass busting shad in a school on top of the water. You have to keep it handy because those schools are up and then gone very quickly. I pitch it into a boat slip or around a dock and let it flutter down slowly to trigger a strike. Mike

I said it was cotton candy but meant to say watermelon candy. it is the one with the multi colored flecks. Mike
  21. Sounds like the trip we all look for. Congratulations. Well done. But ouch!!! Mike
  22. Patlock and I launched at Moonshine at 5:15am and fished until 9am. We fished around points 1 & 2. WT was 84 - 86.4. I was surprised that the water clarity improved in that area since I was on the water about 2 weeks ago. We caught only 11 fish in those few hours with one being a nice 4 lb keeper. Fish were a mixed bag of SM, LM and spots. Most were caught on the little guy but the keeper came on a cotton candy lizard c-rig. It felt good to get on the water again. Mike
  23. Ben, I fished the dam area Saturday morning and noticed the same thing. Water is getting clearer. Mike.
  24. Bill, thank you for the information. Well done. Mike
  25. Quill, those pictures show solid fish. Thanks for the information. Mike
