My scientific response is the pre-spawn feeding frenzy starts when the Forsythia are in bloom. Well I don't really know when it starts but as long as the bass know, I will follow their lead. When I go fishing on Saturday, if the fish are biting, then it must be pre-spawn feeding. If they are not biting, it must still be wintertime fishing. I may be totally wrong but at least I keep my sanity and my ego that way. Mike -
Champ thanks. I guess it helps if I can read. I completely missed it the first time. WT is slooooowly rising. The next week should see it come up a couple of more if the forecast is correct. Mike

BMB, what type blade(s) if you don't mind me asking? I said on another post that I saw some shad in the back of a pocket and thought a spinnerbaits might work. Mike

edyer, weather was 70. sunshine. next couple of weeks are supposed to be 60s-70s and nice at night. A few days of rain mixed in. It should bust loose pretty soone. I saw a lot of fish bunched up waiting for pre-spawn buffet. Mike

I put in at eagle rock around 9:30. I took out at 1:30. In between I fished a few spots with a RC, megabass, Shakey head and a-rig. Caught 2 ky both were short but fat. One was in front of a dock on the megabass and one was on a chunk rock bank on the RC. Both fish were less than 10'. WT was 47 - 49.2. Water was clearer today than last week. Mike

Dang, I wish this threat was out there last year before I bought the Megabass lures. Could have bought a lot of the McSticks and RC STX. Oh well, now I know. Mike

Merc, you are very suspicious. I'm wondering how they are getting a permit as there is a freeze on dock permits until the final decision is made in 2017. HMMM.....this smells fishy. Mike
