HMMM.....the whole thing make me ask more questions. Why mainly walleye in that size range? Do they need more oxygen than smaller or larger walleye?Why not large mouth or small mouth? Are there none around that stretch? Why just that small area near eagle rock? Did it kill all the walleye and spotted bass in that stretch? If not, why did some survive? HMMM..... Mike

Patlock and I launched from moonshine ramp at 6am on Saturday. We’ve been reading the reports from everyone about catching fish deep but as we’ve said before, that is not one of our strengths. But let me confirm that all the reports are CORRECT! We stopped at a point outside of Indian Point and decided to keep the boat in deeper water. The electronics showed tons of baitfish and larger fish nearby. Patlock threw a Little Cleo into the school and caught the first ky. I tied on a Dixie Jet flutter spoon and joined in the fun. For the next 3hours we caught 14 fish with 7 of them being keepers. SM and KYs were in the mix. WT was 82. We want to thank everyone for their fishing reports and confirm the pattern regarding deep fishing with spoons on main lake points. The picture of my depth finder was taken from the wrong angle but I wanted to show what we were seeing. Also I’ve attached a picture of the first ky Patlock caught ( we didn’t know if we would catch others so we always take a picture of the first one caught) and a picture of a dandy SM I caught. All, this is one of the best threads on here. I appreciate the information provided by those I consider knowledgeable. It seems that the two things I don’t like to do (fish >30’ deep and night fishing) are the two things that have the best chance of catching numbers of fish. But I keep fishing anyway because I love it! Mike

And then you have to contend with the boaters who decide that the middle of the channel is where they want to stop the boat, jump in the water and just drift. Crazy!!! Mike

Bo, thanks for the report and pictures of healthy looking fish. As we were leaving Moonshine last night it appeared that a tourney was getting ready to start around 7pm as the bass boats were pouring into the ramp. Competing with the crazy boaters running without lights, I hope all the bassets made it back safely. Mike

FS, pretty slow around the dam area right now. Fishing deep >30’ seems to be the place to start. Use your electronics to find bunch’s and the try to entice them. I went over to Taneycomo last week to fish for bass and caught a few. WT was 69 - 71 in the Bull Creek area. Nothing bigger than 14” but it was fun with topwater and bottom creature baits. I put in at the ramp at Rockaway Beach and motored to Bull Creek. Was able to fish lily pads and lay downs. But the TRL dam area has been tough. Mike
