I believe I have seen other posts where "Sunset Amnesia" has been identified as the section that is connected to the fly line. (top half) I'm also interested in why a "Taneycomo Leader" is somehow better than just a regular tapered leader? What are it's advantages? The only reasons that I have seen in postings is that when you make your own with Amnesia+Invisx, etc. it is cheaper. Is it fished differently? Does it make presentation better? etc.

I love this rod! https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/gloomis-imx-series-spinning-rod Was on Tablerock last week with it ... handles keeper+ size with no issues ...

Yes, I have them and use them ... but they are updated about 20 min or so after the top of the hour ... so for example when I checked this morning before leaving at about 6:45 it showed "0" for 6:00AM ... when I got to the dam a little after 7:00 the water was running ...

Your link is for Wednesday which has not as yet been posted for this week. (Tomorrow is Tuesday!)

I graduated a number of years ago (more than I'm willing to admit) with a B.S. in mathematics so I'm a bit embarrassed that I have to ask what does zero mean? The past three mornings I've checked the SPA generation schedule for Taneycomo and it showed what used to be the symbol for zero (looks like "0") for generation up to just about lunch time each day. So I loaded up and headed over to below the dam only to find the water running? "0" used to mean nada, nein, zip, zilch, nothing ... but apparently not anymore? When I was last down in July zero meant NO WATER RUNNING. So what has changed? Has the SPA changed to common core math? Do I need to ask my granddaughter what zero now means? Did the eclipse strangely change something? Did I miss getting a secret decoder ring? Is there some formula that involves the date, time of day, zodiac sign, etc.? I just checked tomorrow's schedule and there is that zero symbol again "0" ... can someone please let me know what it means? How much water will be running in the morning? Do I dare make another run over to the dam with my fly rod and waders only to be disappointed for the fourth day in a row?

Poor pictures but a couple of very nice 20+ inch bows today. Was fishing between outlets 1 and 2 ... both on #18 midges (Black Beauty Flashback and PnP) ... fishing was actually pretty slow but can't complain about the quality!

It didn't last long ... I got in the water at 9:00 and they blew the horn at 10:00 (though the schedule said it would be off until 2:00) ... netted 11 in the hour so was going to be a good day ... heavy sigh ...

If you caught it up close to shore, its a green sunfish. I don't particularly care to eat them because they are always in the hottest water and their flesh is ... well not too good.

I fish almost exclusively midges (with a fly rod) ... and use a 9' 5wt ... caught this nice bow on a #18 zebra midge a few weeks ago ...

They will let you launch if you are renting a slip from them ... I was there today and rented a slip for tomorrow night and asked ... was told I could launch but cannot leave the trailer there so will have to have someone with me to take the trailer elsewhere ... for us not an issue because we are at the Village at Indian Point ... so I'll launch my wife in the boat and then drive back to VIP with the trailer ... she'll boat around to pick me up there ... a bit of a pain but I understand with the water so high ... but otherwise you are correct ... no launching from IP Marina.

I'm headed to Taney / Table Rock again next week and it looks like still no-wading (heavy sigh) so will likely do some drift fishing ... What's the best set-up for a drift rig (for nightcrawlers). Last time (first time I tried drift fishing on Taney) I used a three way swivel with an 1/8 ounce Lindy No-Snag (see pic below) as the weight connected directly to the 3-way ... and then the hook (#10) on about 24 inches of line attached to the 3-way. I liked the way the Lindy smoothly moved along the bottom. It was pretty easy to tell the difference between fish and bottom ... but I lost a couple of them in snags and they are not terribly cheap. (Need to learn were the snags are on Taney.) I tried a heavy split shot about 24 inches above the hook for awhile but that seemed to produce a lot of "false positives" as the split bumped across the bottom. I fed a lot of fish when rigged up with the split and set the hook on a lot of rocks! So ... looking for some recommendations on the best way to lash up for drift fishing crawlers. Do you use a 3-way swivel? What is the best weight to use? How heavy for 4 units of water? Have you tired the Lindy No-Snag? Are there other "no-snag" options? How far below the weight should the hook and crawler be, etc. etc.
