I get it. I guess you will have to get the story from him. It is tough to really know anyone through youtube or a forum. What I do know of Jerry, I like, as of yet I have no reason to doubt him. Maybe he worked for someone or maybe "guide" meant something different back then? Either way he seems interesting to me, I thought that he might be interesting to others as well.

Jerry is 80 and claims that he was guiding on the river at 12 yrs old. I don't know ?

Back in the day we used to off road between busiek and highlandville, it was fun. Looking on the map....I can't remember where we used to get out of the woods, somewhere south of highlandville, I am sure everything has changed in 30yrs I am still curious.

If you want to find a quick way back to the 1st narrow, go slow and map it once, it is kind of a long ark, something(not exactly, make your own path) like this(see map). You have a right to be nervous, it very deceiving ! I don't go back that far either, I have been back in there too, it always looks good, but not real productive.

Does anyone care to divulge the location of a pit with walleye in it? I am kicking around the idea of buying a Kansas licence just for kayak fishing the pits. Feel free to message me. Thanks

i guess I should have taken a picture of the graph. I was looking for fish Saturday, I thought that there might be some on the deep trees in the middle of Maze creek. Some of you might know where the north most trees are in the middle of the main channel. I never see anyone fish them. As I moved just north of the last tree, I could see something feeding way down on the bottom 45 ft or so. I thought I would drop some bait and see what they were, I would get a bump or two, I dropped a couple minnows only to get them stolen. My guess maybe bluegill. Did any one else see this? I have caught a few nice bass on Tablerock in deep trees like this. It seems like there should be a lunker in there.

I have been following this guy on youtube for a couple years, I have encouraged him to post on the forum, I hope to fish with him in the spring.

Thanks, it was nice to get out. I don't see many walleye pictures lately from Stockton, did people quit fishing for them?? Crappie seem good, maybe that's it. The walleye was the most rewarding, he showed up on the sonar, I stopped the boat, backed up (I was thinking, "Man that looks like a walleye") threw to it, success ! I think they call it sharp shooting. It hit a 1/4oz mooneye jig with a natural color 4 inch paddle tail swim bait. If I was going to target walleye I would be drift fishing or vertical jigging this bait. I have caught some nice eyes on a paddle tail.

I got to the water late, fished north of cedar ridge, I was tough up there, most fish were, 35 to 45 ft Brought home 1 walleye 29ft deep 6 crappie 36 ft deep 3 nice whites 45 ft deep I'm still learning, it was a nice day to be on the water. Oh 1 large mouth 36ft hanging with the crappie. This post has been promoted to an article

He didn't know it but I would have given him one, if he had shown some interest.

About middle of the pile. You have to hover over the pile, just kinda drop down through it. I use an Aberdeen hook, I like the long shank, then a slow lift back out.

It has been a while since the boat and I have been out together. I decided to go for crappie, I got on the water about 7am got off around 5pm, it was getting windy by then. I ended up taking 7 crappie home, depth 35ft. The big bass was 5lb 13oz, I caught it in 25 ft of water on a flat near a channel with the others, I could see it on the graph, I was hoping for a walleye. It was nice to get out. Bonus...I ran into Mike Holland and his wife. I love their new boat !

Fyi as the sun came up and the water warmed it got tough for me. The fish became scattered and higher in the water. The morning bite at 35+ feet was easier for me, they were grouped up nice. I tend to go for the deep bite anyway. Good luck out there, and thanks

A couple bass on a spoon, one on a drop shot minnow intended for a crappie. I didn't mean to mislead. A bass fishermen cruised by he said that it was slow, l said man you should throw a spoon, he said no way, so I thought, I might try my own advice it worked. I went back to crappie.

I would like a pair of boot insulated boot waders, on the cheap (that's how I roll😁) I am only going to use them a few times year. I am 5'10" 165# 31" waist 33" inseam 43" around the chest. Most online waders seem really not my size. Guidance needed.
