And one of the nicest guys ever. He delivered jets too. He would ask us if we wanted any Swiss chocolate when he delivered jets there. He flew all over the world.
My neighbor at my previous house was a test pilot for Boeing. He test flew the jets CB made here in STL. He was a navy pilot and went to top gun school. He flew missions in Grenada.
I asked if he ever killed anyone and he said. Well rockets and gun fire were coming out of a bunker and I shot rockets into it and the return fire stopped.
He had videos of his carrier landings at night. It was unbelievable to watch and hear him on the radio while the ship is pitching up and down.
He even buzzed us one day while we were fishing the Meramec.
I ride a Townie electra 7d. It’s a tank. I also have nylon tire liners. I’d rather peddle the weight than change a tube. I also like to ride on the busiest part of the trail. Ride into old town St Charles and back. People walking and walking dogs. On the river front. Great vibe.
Nope, family bike shop. We didn’t cater to that crowd. You know everything from wagons, skateboards, skates and bikes. Late 70’s and 80’s. Center pull brakes just came out. We used to lace wheels until the Chinese invasion of the 80’s. I went to Chicago for Schwinn school around 82. It was a great environment.
The do well in a big metro area like St Louis. I met my wife there. I like what I do now but nothing beats a kid picking up his new bike. In fact the whole deal was great. Who isn’t happy in the bike shop?
3 Paper routes, summer street crew, nursery and garden shop, Schwinn shop, GM and steel sales.
But only the bike shop, GM and steel sales were as an adult.
This year I was on the bike path on the end of the runway. I went both days. They were waiving at us too. I waited to long for tickets and they were sold out.
