    I have a buddy with a house in KC, Basalt CO and Fort Myers FL. It's nice if you can cover it. He has trucks at each one too.

    Actually since I'm a born and bred suburbanite Springfield would be just fine for me. No adaption necessary. 7 years min for me but we have spent more time the past year talking about where we want to live after that than ever before. Have buddies that went to FL, LOZ, Tablerock and some stayed where they're at. All have there pluses and minuses.

    I like an egg fly on a small jig hook. I also tie them on scud hooks. Use ultra GSP thread to pull the foam tight. It's stupid strong and slick.

    I ride the Katy trail and cover a lot of miles. Usually this time of year we see dozens of snakes. Not this year though. Haven't seen a one. Last year I saw the biggest hog nose snake ever. It was on a trestle over Femme Osage Creek, just laying in the sun. We watched it for quite a while and slithered to the edge of the trestle and jumped right in the creek and swam away.

    Nope. Mostly pounded mallards. My dad used to hang them on fish stringers to let the guts drip out over time in cold weather. Then cooked rare. He loved them. Ribeye of the sky and all that bravo sierra.

    I knew I'd stir up the culinary geniuses with that. Success!!! Shot and ate hundreds of em. Never really enjoyed a single bite. There's a reason there's a Cattlemen's Association and not a duckman association. Beef, rare, it's what's for dinner!

    Ouch! I took one under the index finger nail a couple weeks ago with a trout on the other treble shaking like crazy. Barb was pinched and I was able to get it it out quickly but it still hurt.

    I just bought some 10.25" long needle nose pliers. With a bass you can lock out their body movement by gripping the lower jaw. Doesn't work on trout! Trout are flopping around and hooks are flying everywhere.

    I use 6X Fluoro as a leader for jig fishing. Works great.
