  1. It’s trade in days at bass pro. I bet they have a left hand reel in the barrel to get a feel for it.
  2. I grew up fly fishing and always casted with my right hand and managed line with my left. Then I used spinning reels with left hand reel and now use left hand reel bait cast. It seems intuitive to me that your dominant hand should do the casting, holding and manipulating the rod. Reeling is a one motion. Just reeling. I can use right hand reels if I have too.
  3. I need to go over there. That’s a lot of records.
  4. With a TRD trailer it’s tough to feel the bottom with a lead head unless it’s real heavy. And then hangs up a lot more. But the tungsten with braid is almost as good as FFS😂
  5. It’s a TRD finesse. There is an old study done by Pure Fishing I think. Years ago. They tested craw baits. Both pinchers, one pincher and craws with no pinchers. The no pincher craw got dramatically more bites than the others. The TRD gives it some buoyancy and hangs up a LOT less. Stands straight up too. Works great!!
  6. I got on the water at 11 and left at 1. WT was 55 today and the river dropped quite a bit from Monday. I caught 18 and had 5 get off at the boat. Biggest was 17 inches. Two of them had lampreys on them. White Tackle max fugitive swim bait, PBJ mullet jig, chartreuse/blue crank and PBJ Ned did the damage. Beautiful weather too.
  7. Hey guys. A buddy here at work is coming down on vacation next week. Are there any Marinas open he get gas at Tuesday through Thursday. He said their websites all say Friday to Monday only. TIA
  8. If there ever was one, he is it.
  9. I don’t like the term “hammer” because I think it’s used when it shouldn’t be. But that dude is THE HAMMER 🔨
  10. First time for everything!
  11. I got on the water at 10:30 and ran about 8-9 miles to fish my way back. I caught 5 fish the first hour hour and a half. One being the state record smallie that transitioned to a drum at the boat. Stinkin woke fish😆. Mitch gave me a BUNCH of his Tackle Max fugitive swim baits (white) and I bought some of his mullet head jigs (PBJ) last week. Those and a chartreuse/blue back crank is all I used. I was alternately between the 3 baits as I went. I’ve never caught a bass on a swim bait BTW. Kietech or rage swimmer. About noon, someone flipped the switch and it was fish after fish for the next 3 hours. If I caught one, I would hit spot lock and usually catch 1 or 2 more in the same area. Sometimes 3 or 4 more. From 14” to the biggest, a fat 19”er. 3 18”s and the 19”. Plus a bunch of 14-16 inch fish. Probably 30 fish total after counting all my photos. Here’s pictures of the nicer ones. 16” to 19” fatty. That fugitive swim bait bite is awesome. I like to fish top down and fast to slow so reeling that swimmer is a great bite. You can feel the tail thump. Some of them fully inhaled it to the point I had to retie it several times. I threw it on 7’ medium fast st croix spinning rod with a 3/16 VMC moon eye. I only used one all day. The smaller one.
  12. I don’t know nearly as much as @Bill Babler and @SplitG2 but I always throw a crank.
  13. Any pictures? Fishing good?
  14. Yes we do. It gives us pleasure knowing she’s with you. 😂
  15. Don’t worry. Sugarbritches owns him. 😆
  16. Wait!!! Gravois Mills has a border? 😂
  17. Because it’s convenient and free.
  18. Some people have associated the rise in chronic disease to the introduction and recommendation to eat low fat diets, more sugar and replace saturated fats with non saturated fats specifically seed oils. All took off in the 80’s. Overlay a chart of the increase in chronic disease with the increase in that diet and it’s pretty telling.
  19. Yeah but you got that trolling motor in your back pocket. I think you’re going to be fine 😆
  20. I’d love to try it. I see them now and again on the river. I thought they could move the console on mine forward a foot or so.
  21. Can you go down there and go Rambo on them? Looks a fun day of shooting 😆
  22. Bass pro has last years garmin screens on sale. You can get the big screen with transducer for $2500.00. Plus installation and a battery for the FfS.
