I've fished out of Myrtle Grove a few times too. It's almost setup in a way that you need a guide. I have friends that live down there and they know the area so we didn't need one.

I use a Benjamin 22 caliber pump air gun. Model 392. They are very reasonable and they pack a punch. My daughter is a stone cold killer on rabbits here in the burbs of St Louis. Our best day together on ⅓ acre is 11. Flower fed rabbits. I know they have those fancy new ones like Gammo but this thing is deadly.

Peanut butter gets them almost every time for me. We had a bicycle shop when I was a kid. It had apartments upstairs above it and the mice were thick. They would wise up to all kinds of bait in the traps. I looked at is as a hunting opportunity. Sport if you will. I was eating lunch one day and had a mouse actually run into my bag of cheese curls right on the bench in front in of me. I realized they would never resist a cheese curl. Even when they would get wary of it they would still nibble on the end of it until they dropped their guard. Then SNAP!! Boy I miss that sometimes.
