  1. At least for me it was. I got there this morning and put in downtown. Long bumpy boat ride to the cable in a flat bottom jet. 7 spillways open and it’s pretty much sensory overload the first time up there. Caught a smallie on the first cast and I got bit on nearly every cast for 2 hours. The current is so fast fast I couldn’t fight them on spot loc. I lost two jerk baits trying to do that. I think one was bit off by a walleye. Not a hard and just gone with jerker. I only took one picture of a trout as they were all about the same size. Then 5 spillways, then 3 and the bite died. The would chase it to the boat in packs but they just wouldn’t eat it. Great couple hours! Saw Duane too. So left and went back to work.

  3. I watched it and figured something was going on. It didn’t look good in the net upside down. But if he caught it on light line it probably took a while to actually net it. He tried that’s all we can hope for right? I’m trying to get over there today sometime.
  4. I come down and trout fish Taney in my jet boat but I only had a couple hours this afternoon after driving down. Randy Blauket says there’s always shallow fish and since I don’t have any experience or electronics I poked around the edges this afternoon with a whacky rig. Caught this 18”er. But that’s it.
  5. I’ve had a pond prowler with trolling motor for 30 plus years never registered it. And I loaded and unloaded it right in front of the “man” many times. They checked our licenses but never said anything about the yacht. I’m not sure they know it should be registered.
  6. $4.59 in the STL metro. $4.04 - $4.09 down here today.
  7. Wow nice! How much $ do you think you have in it?
  8. A buddy that I was fishing with last week had been up a couple weeks ago. He keeps his bass boat up there. Same report I always hear. Bass fishing was almost nonexistent so they fished for crappie. Had to catch 10-12 little ones to get 10” squeaker to keep. Let us know how you do if you go. Pictures are a nice touch too.
  9. They like dog food 😆
  10. I was supposed to drive down today for the week but decided to wait till tomorrow after looking at the radar. That’s a brutal drive down 44 towing a boat in the rain the whole way. See y’all tomorrow 😆
  11. More good news from the Biden administration Taking care of the peeps😂
  12. I’ll try and get some up this week. 😁
  13. From my past experiences they will either shut it down when I get there or the trout will be swimming around with them hanging out of their mouth and won’t eat anymore 😆
  14. I went through the rough fish phase. Lasted several years. Even though the fight is good (especially carp and drum) it loses something when you finally drag the ugly things up to unhook them. Plus the line slime😂
  15. For selfish reasons I hope it keeps the lake high enough to keep the spillways open till I get down there😁
  16. I work remotely. So once she retires I can spend more time at the condo or traveling. It will make my work life much better than already is. She has to go into the office.
  17. Maybe some time I will. I’ll be driving down Saturday. I have a work golf outing tomorrow and Friday. I’m playing our president tomorrow. It’s a match play. Question: Do you beat him or let him win?😆
  18. My live wells have never had water in them. 😂 They don’t have pumps or anything like that either. Maybe one day I’ll try a tournament. For now I’ll leave them to the experts.
  19. I’ll be driving down. I don’t think tournament fishing is for me. Stupid work golf deal Thursday and Friday or I would’ve been down this week too.
  20. Saves on the hand soap though😁
  21. They were closed for a while right? Headed down Saturday for the week.
