At least for me it was. I got there this morning and put in downtown. Long bumpy boat ride to the cable in a flat bottom jet. 7 spillways open and it’s pretty much sensory overload the first time up there. Caught a smallie on the first cast and I got bit on nearly every cast for 2 hours.
The current is so fast fast I couldn’t fight them on spot loc. I lost two jerk baits trying to do that. I think one was bit off by a walleye. Not a hard and just gone with jerker. I only took one picture of a trout as they were all about the same size.
Then 5 spillways, then 3 and the bite died. The would chase it to the boat in packs but they just wouldn’t eat it. Great couple hours! Saw Duane too. So left and went back to work.
