  1. Let us know how it goes please
  2. Well we know it will be smallish😂
  3. Were people wading out to rebar on that 1750 flow?
  4. Flippins are great people!
  5. While I see the value of a guide I prefer to figure it out myself. I thought about doing a few guide trips when I got my river jet. As much for learning about running jets as fishing. But I’ve done it on my own. Took me 3 years to get a 20”er in the boat. Banged my boat around a little but it’s been the most fun and rewarding experience I’ve had fishing. I still can’t wait for the next trip. Aside from fishing exclusively for big trout I’ve lost my zeal for fly fishing for trout. There’s been plenty of trips I could have switched to fly gear and probably hammered smallies. Maybe this spring I’ll throw a rod and some flies in the boat.
  6. I still haven’t thrown a fly for smallies. 😐
  7. My fly tying materials are limited to a soft side cooler bag that I can take with me. But then again I think you can catch all the trout you want on an egg and SJ worm. 😆
  8. When my dad died my brothers and I went through his fly tying stuff. 4 large chests plus a tying bench with shelves full of materials. You couldn’t tie a woolly bugger or crackle back out of it. My brother asked if he could have it and I said “yes, thanks”. 😂 I was talking to him a year later and he said he ended up dumping it all. Couldn’t even give it away.
  9. I did too. What is now earth city and the casino in Maryland heights.
  10. There is an island at rim that is across the shoal. You can fish along and behind the island down to the end of it. Kind of tricky to cross at min flow. But after they introduced min flow I quit going there except in a boat. You do not want to be on the island if the water comes up. Trust me😆
  11. About 15 minutes from 412 to Norfork Dam. Water should be low. All the lakes in the chain are below power pool. Norfork has been off for a week. Few people crossing the shoal at Rim since min flow was instituted.
  12. Old geezer😀
  13. What @jdmidwest said. Dam area is probably the easiest to access. Parking at Ackerman can get limited if there are a lot of people there. You can see the water flow on the USACE app.
  14. Thx! Any pictures of the rebar area?
  15. It’s always the right time of year in my book. I throw it year round.
  16. Anybody post any pictures of the dam area in that flow?
  17. I can’t put that thing down. It works. 🤷‍♂️
  18. I’ve always wanted to fish it. Man do I live in a bad location to fish!
  19. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that. Have you @Brian K. Shaffer?
  20. Originally it was hair from his dog “peppy” I think. I’m sure @Phil Lilleywill chime in.
  21. We thought it was a GMO apple and they didn’t recognize it😆. Like a dog won’t eat the new fake meat🤷‍♂️. After the deer passed on it nobody around here wants apples.
  22. I have a half dozen deer that come through my yard daily. They feast on the persimmons. My daughter put an Apple on the bird bath where they drink and not one would touch it. Like it was a pool ball or something.
  23. For Hillbilly date night😆
  24. Boy me too! I really want to get rid of some of it too. This winter it’s on my list. Last winter I sold some fly rods but I have more plus so much fishing stuff it’s unreal. Yesterday while looking through some stuff I found bubble rigs. Still in the package. Bags of soft plastics never opened. 😂
  25. There used to be a cave restaurant off 44 near, I think Jerome years ago.
