Brett Radar at chartered Waters showed my daughter and I how to do it a few years ago in Taney. They had been running a full 4 units for weeks and we booked him on vacation. Sure we could have spin fished but we like to fly fish. It's not really a cast because there is no loop. We laid it out on one side of the boat and let the water load it. Straight overhead cast to the other side with the line almost straight in line with the rod. Flop it over a few times to get it away from the boat is all we did. We also used slip bobbers that day.
BTW, I think Bill Babler mentioned in his report that they were using 9' of leader.
