  1. The State Park at Tablerock across the dam. Very nice and close. I'm trying to be there myself with the same setup. SIO3.
  2. Better check river levels after this rain before you go. Probably will be high and muddy. SIO3
  3. Thank you all. SIO3 Coming down Sat and Sun to see if the trout will throw me a bone for my b-day. Hope to see you this time Phil since I have friends staying with you and I've been invited for a fish fry Sat night.
  4. I fortgot to add that I put a loop at the end of my leader to attach my tippet to. Works great! Just use a clinch knot to attach your tippet. That is all. SIO3
  5. Hi Phil You could do one next Saturday Mar. 24th when I'm down there. About 4 in the afternoon would be nice. I want to fish in the evening so I'd like to be done eatin by 5. I'm just bringing it up in case you really want to have one soon. SIO3.
  6. Hey Mallard. I use a Davey knot for small flies and light tippet. A clinch for larger flies and tippet. I use loop to loop for fly line to leader using a perfection loop. And this Albright knot http://www.flyanglersonline.com/begin/knots/albright.html for backing to fly line. For conventional tackle I use a palomar knot most of the time. Quack, quack. SIO3
  7. Hey Wildminnow. I was down at the 160 bridge in Tecumseh last Friday and the place was loaded with fisherman but no fish. An old timer who I talked to for quite a while said his buddy caught a limit of whites down at Udal earlier last week. Hope this helps. Don't forget a report when you get back. SIO3.

  9. The 19th works for me as much as any other weekend. Now if my employer would just cooperate. And thanks for staying on top of this Mr.Ducky. I have got to get to the bottom of all these weird screen names. SIO3
  10. Either of those would be better for me than Memorial Weekend. I would like the weekend before Memorial so it's cooler at night to camp. As soon I make plans something will come up. It's like the guy in the dam watching me get ready to fish, then flip the generators on. SIO3
  11. I don't want to throw a bucket of cold water on that date but that's Memorial weekend. SIO3
  12. Hey Terry. I pulled my hat down low and slinked around but that snake spotted me. SIO3
  13. My buddy and I drove down from St. Lou to find the Norfork OFF! We went to Woodsman's and secured a canoe and shuttle to the dam. We were beside ourselves at the thought of being the first to fish McClellan's since Jan. 1. We saw John Wilson at Blue Ribbon fly shop and he said few if anybody had the chance to fish McC's on low water since the dreaded closing. We paddled straight to it and started at the hole in front of the field. We were alone and had the whole area to ourselves. We were giddy with excitement at the thought of picking that place apart without interference from other's. We caught fish on every cast with buggers. I mean "every cast" My buddy commented that the only cast he didn't catch one on, was when he had a strike and pulled it away from the fish. Guy in the dam saw us, cranked up two units and the party was over in 45 minutes. I almost cried right there. We saw JW when we paddled out and needless to say it didn't take long to get to the confluence.
  14. I'm in. If my job and family don't get in the way like the previous outing. SIO3.
  15. Is this also you Mr. Whodat? http://www.cafeoutdoors.com/ubb/showflat.p...87444#Post87486
  16. As kids we used em for either fly or spin. When you put a spinning reel on the 7 footer you can cast a marabou jig a mile. Fishes em great too. I might have to stop in at Wallyworld in Mountain Home myself this weekend. SIO3
  17. Hey Mallard. I'm headed out tonight. We're leaving St. Lou and driving to either Taney or Norfork to trout fish this weekend. We're bringing our white bass stuff to try a little of that also. PRobably hit Beaver, Swan maybe NFOW. Wherever we get the feeling to go that's where we're headed. Maybe a hybrid will be taken? One can only hope. SIO3.
  18. That's it! They must have read my short report a while back and saw an opportunity. I'll be down there Friday Terry. Hey trout; be afraid, be very afraid. Should I bump the report? SIO3
  19. Me and buddy are doing the St. Louis-Taney-Mountain Home-St. Louis loop this weekend. Leaving tomorrow evening coming back Sunday. Now that's what I'm talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SIO3
  20. Great work on the journal guys. I really liked the Walleye stuff. I don't fish for them but I love outdoor history, especially about the Ozarks. Thanks for the read. SIO3.
  21. Hey Randall. I live in St. Charles and used to go to Pond Fort occasionally with a buddy who kept his Bittany there. It was great. We used to shoot the Sporting Clays league there in the evening. Now it's a subdivision. SIO3.
  22. Thanks Thom. St. Charles here. SIO3
  23. Hey Phil. Is there much room to fish around the first outlet with the current generation? Thinking of driving down tomorrow but I'm alone and no boat. SIO3.
