Holiday Hideaway Resort on the Aunts Creek arm is near all the major attractions, but far enough away from everything for good social distancing. Dave and Rose are wonderful hosts and they have great amenities along with a private ramp and boat slips. Give them a call the next time you are down.

From what I heard, they did not pull the permits on the north lakes, only the ones in the south zone. As long as the social distancing rules are followed, there shouldn’t be anything wrong with it. I am of the opinion that we do not need any more government control over our lives than we already have. To each his/her own.🤷♂️

Is it the ramp in Clear Creek? It is a good place to launch, but you have to beach your boat to get in and out.

Awesome, thanks! Looks like a pretty good day to me!!

What is the water clarity like in that area? Looks pretty decent in the pictures.

Spent a few days with our good friends Rose and Dave at Holiday Hideaway in the Aunts Creek area this week. This is the first time I have ever been on Table Rock in the spring (been there a couple times for fall derbies), and I definitely like the spring better there 😄. Dodged rain storms and found some good fish shallow in the backs of pockets every day that we fished. Almost everyone we saw was fishing secondaries and main lake points with A rigs, I hate that bait and I am more of a dirty water shallow guy when I can be so I idled past them and went to the run ins in the backs. I could pick one or two off or at least see them make a run at the bait in every pocket. Baits of choice were jerkbait, spinner bait, swim jig, and a swim bait. Didn’t get many fish pics but only had 1 short all week and probably a 3 pound average. Saw several big ones (5-6 lbs) that were too smart to eat I guess. Water temps ranged from 47 to 51, and did run into a small Shad kill in a pocket a little ways up the James one evening and couldn’t buy a bite there. If you are wanting to get out and/or away, they have openings!!

I think the spots are bigger in Table Rock due to the big presence of threadfin. The gizzards in our lakes up here quickly grow to a size that makes them hard to gorge on by the spots, so they rely more on crayfish and minnow species. Just my opinion.

Whatever Johnston brother I pick, simply pick the other. It would have worked for anyone all year!!! -

I see my technique of picking a bunch of local guys doesn’t work too well...Should have picked the only guys I knew, they did way better. Hahaha! -

What a giant, congratulations!! -
I will do it again if you guys have it, just have to say I don’t know more than a few guys anymore. I had a blast doing it this year as my first fantasy sport. I wish MLF would put a bigger emphasis on big fish as well...maybe take your best 5 and add it to the total as a bonus?

Great job Champ! Looks like recovery on the new knee is going well.

I am pretty sure it is tomorrow. We talked about fishing it, but my partner and I are still chasing deer.

My top two are good, the rest are horrible. Oh well, it has been a blast for my first time in any fantasy sport and we are just getting started. -
Beautiful Day on Water....Even Without the Fish!
Falcon215 replied to YakAttack's topic in Stockton Lake
What is the water clarity like? I am hoping to make it down in the next couple weeks. -
I made a set of stencils last week to try and copy the old pattern. It was painstaking work with an exacto knife, all the videos I have watched about stencil making suggested using a dremel tool, and now I know why! I tried to upload some pics of the baits I painted with it this week, but I keep getting an error. Any ideas why I can’t get photos to upload? I am trying to do it from an I phone.

I believe they are running them to skirt the rules. Last I read, B.A.S.S. Is considering closing the loophole because a bunch of people were pissed when he won that open and the guy building them was up in the top 5 or 10 as well. They had already banned jets.

Thanks Champ! That is pretty much what I was looking for. I am used to running Truman, upper LOZ, Pomme, and Stockton so I know it really can't be answered and has to be learned and will never be completely safe. I will heed your advice and ease around above Viola and hope to get a feel for it. I really appreciate the help!!

I will be coming to Table Rock for the first time this coming weekend and would like to check out the King's river arm among other places. I am wondering how safe it is to run around in a bass boat. Is there a lot of flooded timber under the surface etc.? How far up can I safely go and are there areas where I need to idle? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
