  1. The coontail on parts of the little red are not the jets friend either
  2. Oh my! It will be a challenge to top that big guy. Great!!!!!
  3. Ugly day here just relined and worked on stuff, at least you got bit. Ham, "major" malfunction does not sound good. g
  4. Tougher than me. Fishing in single digits, and dispatching trains at night.... ouch. I am going to wait and lay off a couple trips come up that way in late May, see my son at Second City.... Wanted us to come in January....nope not happening. g
  5. Had a fishing buddy, that had both of his ears cut off, taped his sunglasses to his head.... I wear a hat that protects my ears and eyes, sun screen various "fishing" shirts" BPS, Academy Columbia UA one spot took off my collar bone area do not want anymore. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on your prospective I look goofy no matter what I wear, function is more important than appearance for me.
  6. OneShot Some guys use very heavy salt type rods. I prefer a med/hvy bass rod, use 30# test mono (I use maxima) It provided strength enough but still breakable on a snag. Some guys use the bottle openers with a single hook, I prefer a 3/0 or 4/0 treble as I feel that i can place and control it better and cast to the fish rather than "setting a trap" It has been several years since I did any grabbing on the Niangua but used to be some good spots. g
  7. Duckydoty, I am sure I will see you around Bridge Port soon, would like to get a look at your set up. One of the jet solutions has lead to humminbird to putting out a si transducer splitter, of course there goes another transducer, and the cable cost, Your inboard likely allows a bit of clearance at the transom that I do not have. g
  8. Awesome, those will make precious memories
  9. Beautiful Fish, wonderful color. Sounds like a Great Family day.
  10. Cotter, AR out on the highway just east of the downtown turn off
  11. Depends on what type. The straight down type transducers do fine. The trick is SI, been working with the "hummingbird guy" since last April on solutions the Engineers are intrigued. Not there yet, but closer. Could write several pages on experiments and research. SI has to be below the jet..... If you make the deal end of January at Lilley's I will bring what I got so far, and we can go through, no cameras, maybe you have a better idea. There are some complications. g
  12. Darn it LRF, wish I had never seen your fryer in action, from a distance easy to call them overpriced cookers. Now I want one bad, but it is tough for a "frugal" guy like myself to justify one.... no more than I cook anymore. Man that thing did a Great job. Afraid a Cajun Fryer R&V is in my future, needed one 35 years ago. g
  13. I will schedule also
  14. I have two Browining Gold Stalker Baitcast reels STG10HA at the BPS outlet. They were inexpensive, I figured to use as "float" reels as I have a tendency to get them wet dirty and/or worse. Have tried them on several rods, different lures etc. same issue, some cast fine some not. The thing I noticed, the line guide works great reeling in, but all other line guides either free spool or or distribute the line off, this thing does not move. I think the reel guide is the issue, providing me plenty of back lashing, but have braid, would mono help? Thought ideas suggestions welcome. I have thrown bait casters since I was 4, so lets say 50 plus years, like most improvements but this thing has me buffaloed? Thanks in advance. g

  19. They grind the whole thing into burger anyway. So no tough steaks.
  20. To get it to pay I think you will need to film folks with more talent than catchin fish..... don't think me and Muddy in a two piece will work, however if we could have got the "break dance " on tape?
  21. Oh man, have you gentlemen never heard of Surf and turf? Mmmmm! BOTH! for me.
