  1. Great year! Are you going to do it again?
  2. I clipped my Ulterra remote to my inflatable life vest. The one I always wear to keep the wife from killing me. It became second nature to use the lanyard to flip it to my hand and punch the right button. When I changed to the Force, the same arrangement worked.
  3. When they are attacking trailers, I always found that continuing your retrieve or even stalling the bait, as if they were not there, might provoke them to full takes. BTW, walleye guys, the same goes for those eyes that seem to want to chew worm tails.

    What's Cooking?

Last night late I pulled the pork shoulder roast I put on to smoke yesterday. Today I made a batch of horseradish slaw and a batch of mustard BBQ sauce. Company will be here this evening. I will eat too much.

    What's Cooking?

Seigie's Polish sausage (house made here in Tulsa) braised with onions, peppers, and celery, over polenta. While I fixed this, the pork shoulder roast was smoking in my mini egg.
  7. They should. However, not many have expressed interest. I have a "small and limited power" boat.
  8. Believe it or not, this beauty has not sold. I guess everyone is obsessed with larger boats and motors that have more than 90 hp. Ask price reduced to 23,500. Make me an offer.
  9. OMG! That is a teenager expression. Proud of the young men.

    What's Cooking?

Sausage, ham, and cheese breakfast casserole.
  11. James, at this location, at this time of year, will I need to bring charcoal or electric cords to reheat the beans? BTW, I won't be opening cans.
  12. Wrench, you are a "character" but you are a good man.

    What's Cooking?

This may be the longest this thread has gone without a post. Stewed onions and peppers with cheese polenta and chicken.
  14. Where and when?
  15. FWIW, in 1973 -75, this was goal and hope. As a newly married guy still in college, I did not buy. Older impulse still tempts me.
  16. TM repaired. Detailed. Ready to sell.
  17. True that.
  18. In some of the good walleye areas, when the fish are semi cooperative, you take a number in line to follow the pattern. I always tried to find a way to vary the pattern, but sometimes you just need to give up and join in. BTW, when you find an alternative, those following the "pattern" become confused and resentful.

    What's Cooking?

    Gazpacho
  20. Don't I know it. A Lindy style rig dragged slowly would slay them as well.

    What's Cooking?

Arugula, feta, and toasted pecans with cantaloupe and prosciutto.
  22. As always, I admire the simple analysis you bring to bear. Your eye, both for "art" and elsewhere, is clear.
  23. I wrote this some years ago at a "Teaching Writing" workshop. I consider it the best short piece I ever wrote. September 2001 On the 11th, I was in Texas to visit my father. He was in a nursing home and could not recognize me. Still, I visited when I could. That night I laid awake and tried to digest the horror which overlaid an already bittersweet trip. As I finally fell asleep, I realized my father was lucky. He had a reason not to recognize the world.
  24. The only way to reduce a lake level is let or take the water out. This announcement means the Corps will release water sooner during rainfall "events" and longer afterward to avoid long periods of time at "flood" level. As always that will create a domino event down stream. That means TR will get more water and sooner during rainfall "events." That leads to passing more water and sooner through Taneycomo and on to Bull. An interesting part will be how well they meet the river height requirement. Another will be the minimum flow changes and how they affect the fishing.
