    Question

RR is better for them in my opinion. A ton more access to water for kids.
  3. Mudcats is what we called them in Oklahoma. There is also a minor league baseball team called the Carolina Mudcats. Been to a few of their games.
  4. The odd part wasn't really their speech as much as their manners. Some were very leery of us while others seemed to want to talk. They were all friendly though. Back when I managed an auto paint store I had a customer that was Amish. Jonas Schwartz. Great guy with a great family. He would come in once a month or so and bring his wife and kids. They may have been a bit more laid back because he caught a lot of grief from his wife and she enjoyed dishing it out. Never knew her name, she simply introduced herself as Mrs. Jonas Schwartz. Jonas built and painted buggies. When I asked him how he applied the paint he said he sprayed it. But I knew he didn't have electricity so I asked how his compressor worked. He had it rigged up to a bicycle and when ever he was ready to paint he put one of the kids on there. May not have been the best way to get it done and it didn't really produce enough pressure to atomize paint correctly but the paint jobs when done would rival most show cars. Sure miss that guy and his family. And they loved to fish. Especially his wife. We swapped fishing stories quite often.

    What's Cooking?

One of our store managers buys big slabs of meat at Sams and then dry ages it himself. I think he said he usually gets 12 thick steaks out of it. I just know that the times I have been fortunate to have some it’s been the best steaks I have ever had. The guy can absolutely cook. I can get all the details if you guys are interested.
  6. Yes they are. I remember the first one I caught. I was kind of thinking that the fish I was fighting must have got off somehow and I hooked this much smaller fish just as it happened. And then I caught another and confirmed they are psycho.
  7. We ran across a big group of these guys a couple of years ago on the stretch. They were minnow fishing and really weren't very good at it. The weirdest thing was we tried talking to a few of them and the ones that would speak back could barely speak English. It was a really odd encounter.
  8. Everything in the salt fights like crazy. Just spent a week on the beach and never took a rod out of the vehicle until we got back home. First summer I haven't caught a salt fish in a very long time. Nice job Mitch! It's very addicting.
  9. Longear!! Used to have a few in my office aquarium and hope to have a few more winter there this year.
  10. It is a nice little place and a good place for a dry fly.
  11. Sorry to hear that was you bass fisher. Or really anyone for that matter. Wish these idiots would start shooting themselves rather than innocent people. We can carry all we want but the problem just continues to get worse.
  12. I think I recognize that catfish area. Seems to still be more water than normal for this time of year.
  13. Yeah we always kept them in a five gallon bucket with an aerator and never had any problems. And I remember some very hot nights.
  14. I’d rather be in shorts and a tee wet wading a stream. Winter can suck it.
  15. That’s a nice haul!

  17. But no there are no pics of the action at the ramp.
  18. We need some video of that.
  19. We used spotlights to do a night float one time. It was much easier to float without the lights than with them on. Only thing we ran into was a couple getting busy at the takeout.
  20. I use full size spinnerbaits. I just don't care for the small ones, they don't seem to run as good. If I want something smaller then I go with a Mepps Aglia #2 or #3.
  21. I came around a bluff one night on the Kings and almost hit a houseboat that was anchored in the middle. I was going less than 30mph and still almost didn’t see it. And it was huge.
  22. While the IQ of the average American has increased the overall intelligence of the government has tanked. But if you can guarantee them a win in the next election they will have 10 people living on the moon next week.
  23. I would love to be there with some fresh biscuits. Good stuff JD. Love hearing about your bees.
  24. That guy is such a jackass
