I didn't make this but I was very pleased that I gave it a shot. Signature Sausage Detroit Style with crispy frico, mozzarella, sliced spicy sausage, original sauce, whipped ricotta, and a hot honey drizzle. If you say the pizza has hot honey on it, I want some.

People are very protective of their sauce. I don't have one but I know how some feel about it. Chief gave me some a while back and even his wife doesn't know the recipe.
-
I already told you that it's ketchup and some sauce nobody can pronounce. And I'm guessing that's about as close to the truth as you are going to get.

I saw some young men get ran off from the pass. They really wanted to stay and surf but the guys in the truck were not having it. Nobody got a ticket though. I really wanted to get some shots of them in the water but the truck got to them before I could.

A couple more interesting shots from the beach. The waves coming in were huge for that area. The wind was blowing so hard that as they rolled the wind would blow the tops off. Really cool to see but the wind was blowing so hard that it was like being inside a sandblast cabinet. There’s Helene. We were 200+ miles from where she made landfall. We got wind. That’s it. No big lightning show. No rain. About 20 miles inland it was raining like a mofo. So the interesting thing about these two is time and location. I was taking the first shot and could hear my wife babbling something. She was about 20 yards away trying to stay out of the blowing sand. So when I got tired of not knowing what she was talking about I walked over to her and see she was pointing the other way and then she finally screamed turn around. And that’s when I took the second shot. Same time, same place, one east, and one west.

I heard it’s just ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.

Late Night Problems - right below the dam

Uh oh! Looks like Marty has challenged Duane to a goose fajita cookoff! Winner gets a trophy and the loser sucks. I call dibs on one of the judging positions. -

OAF group float - James River Sept 21... Who is Going?!?

I’m so bummed that I missed this. Thanks for sharing the pics. Looks like it was a great day for it. And it looks like I fit into the right age group. I’m a 100% in on the next OAF float. Can’t wait. -

Yeah 96 cfs is pretty low for that river. Going to be some dragging. -

That stuff is for drinking. -
Not much timber in the areas we used to fish. But we mostly stayed on the Oklahoma side around the Caney Creek area and around the dam.

Huge water, but not a deep lake. Most of the striper fishing I have done on that lake was trolling. Boring as heck but a fun fish to catch. White bass, or sand bass down there, are abundant and will get up on top in the afternoons. Usually some small stripers mixed in with them. A guide for a day would be a good idea.

Well for one, at least this weekend, that’s what the fish wanted. We did try. But it also has a well known name for a reason.
-
Yep, that was the only one. And he wasn’t afraid of me at all. But we didn’t see much wildlife besides birds and a few beavers.
-
Thank you.

We take it with us. Every canoe gets a trash bag of about 6 sticks of wood. Been doing it this way for awhile now.

Spent the weekend on the river with a couple of great friends. My first time actually floating the river and I do believe I fell in love with it. It could have used a little more water to cut out the dragging we did, which was very easy. It could have also been a little nicer weekend. Hasn't rained in like 17 years but you can gaurantee it will rain when I float. It was off and on all day Friday and Saturday. It was also very friendly to us when we camped. It even let us get everything loaded up Sunday morning before it rained. And that was the worst day for rain. But with only a couple miles to go to take out, it wasn't that bad. The fishing was good. We had a hard time figuring out what they wanted and struggled until we did. By evening of the first day everyone was soley using a Zara spook of some kind. We caught fish on other things but the spooks produced at least 95% of the fish with both of those guys landing a 16+ inch fish on one. I caught a bunch of fish but only got my heart broke by the river mosters. It was a beautiful place that I can't wait to get back to. Pics were a little limited since it was so wet most of the time but I managed to squeeze out a few between showers.

Y Bridge park is in Galena just on the other side of the river. And yes it would be a better place. But there is plenty of room at Cox too. Just no fancy picnic area. You can get to either one from the other by walking over the Y bridge. -
