I haven't noticed that corrosion problem with the z-man heads but I don't keep any rigged up except the one on a rod. Guess I need to take a better look at it. Thanks for the idea on the twist.

I used to use only the ones that had a weed guard. Then I accidently bought a bunch without a weed guard. Now I only use those. (until they are gone anyways)

And nice build on that popper. I had it stuck in brush behind me. Banged off some concrete. Landed 9 fish. drug it through some gravel. Still looks like it did. I don't even think it lost a leg!

Thanks Ness! To be honest I didn't know the name of the fly until I got home. If I had I would have been rocking that all the way down the road! Of course that would have pissed off the queen since that would be another iTunes purchase. I think she put my account on hold. A/C was just a $10 capacitor. It's blowing cold again.

Left work late. Didn’t have anything together or planned so I grabbed the 8wt and some Funk #49 poppers and.......wait a minute........that’s a sinking line.......where is the floating line......hey there’s a 5wt ready to go.......so I grabbed the 5wt and the Funk #49’s. Heading west things don’t look great. I just kept going. Wife called and said the AC wouldn’t work. I just kept going. Casting the Funk #49 with a 5wt wasn’t fun. But I got to workout my double hauling skills and made progress. Not the species I was looking for but they still pulled pretty good on the string and were willing to participate. With the coyotes singing in the distance the sun headed down. And I packed up and headed east.

I understand the issues of dealing with loading a boat that high by yourself. It sucks and I wouldn't want to do it every time I went. But these would be nice to have if you are taking big trips where you have a bunch of gear. Once we get the boats in the bed it's a little cumbersome to load the rest.

Nothing really prohibits it but if you are fly fishing then you only have a couple of spots where you can cast effectively. And then you have multiple current seams that you are trying to deal with. It's not easy to get a decent drift through there. I only fish that area during the winter and usually have a buddy with me that doesn't wade and uses spinning gear. He spends most of his time watching me catch fish from the shore. I'm not saying that he never catches any because we both usually leave with a limit, but I catch a bunch more. If he would wade though I'm certain that it would be very even.

oneshot doesn't fish in the park. So it doesn't really matter for this discussion what you can or can't do in the park. If you are going to fish the river you can do it without wading but It's not going to be very productive. Go across the bridge to Bennett Springs access and try to effectively fly fish from the bank. It's not happening.

If there is no change then it's not worth it. Find some that have timber lining the sides or a ditch on the sides or a little creek be along the side or a spot where the road crossed a creek. Road beds are great to fish around but not every road bed is great.
