  1. You better be careful with that or somebody will come steal her.
  2. If trained meteorologist can't do it I don't think the COE is going to be able to do it. If they started dropping the lake in anticipation and it didn't rain everybody would be all upset about that.
  3. I've never even met her but still know that she's a special person. Can't wait to hear the story.

    What's Cooking?

I'll admit that too as well as I really don't care too much.
  5. Hang in there Phil. We are all hoping it's less than what they are saying. But it puts my daughter whining about getting rained on at prom this Saturday in a new perspective.
  6. Seems the worst ones are the ones you never see. A few years ago while fly fishing from the beach in Alabama I was taken into my backing three different times by fish I never saw. Two of them within about 30 minutes. I thought at first it was big reds but now I think it was probably small sharks. Sure wish I would have got a glimpse of one of them.
  7. Good story OTF. I've lost big fish all over the place, but I've landed my fair share too. Now days it just cracks me up like that old guide, but it still takes a while for me to get over it. The latest was a big bow on the NFOW. I didn't get it on video but the audio of the event tells the whole, very short, story. The audio is a bit muffled because the GoPro was in it's waterproof case. It's probably a PG-13 for language.

    What's Cooking?

I rarely let mine get cold. And it's about time for another new one. That steak loos delicious.
  9. You get people to quit suing companies for any reason they can find then you will probably fix the problem. Accidents do happen. If a customer gets hurt at your place of business you better have some insurance to take care of them.
  10. That made me chuckle. That's why I just keep them all rigged up now but I do know that feeling. Nice reports.
  11. That's assuming they still want to be a true tackle distributor. In the Springfield store you will find more shoppers in shoes than you do in the tackle isles. But they don't appear to be hurting for money.
  12. It's been many years ago but I was fishing a tournament at Table Rock one day when one of these kids fishing tournaments was going on. The weather was horrible and we pulled into a dock to eat some lunch. A boat in the kids tournament comes along and pulls into an empty stall next to us. Soon as the boat stops the rod box flies open and out comes this kid. That had to be an interesting ride across the lake.
  13. Nope. We like the Mrs. just fine. Nice job again! I hate skunks.
  14. Those are all great places but well outside of the "within an hour of Springfield".
  15. Well I think you've already mentioned the best two places to catch a brown in this area. They are there. Walleye? There was a pretty good report about some of those on the lower James. Check out the Blunks area. It's combat fishing when it's good so don't expect solitude, manners, or common sense. And the Lil' Sac, Turnback Creek, Beaver Creek, Swan Creek, and the pothole would all be a decent spot to try for a walleye. These can all be great spots to catch a White Bass as well if they are still running by then. Crappie? I'm not a crappie guy so I got nothing. Musky? Pretty much going to be Fellows but it's not going to be easy to do that from the bank. Hell it's not easy from a boat. There is a member here with the name Harps. PM him and ask him to take you out in his boat. He's getting close to figuring them out. That should get you somewhere. If nothing else you will see the country. Of course if it was me I'd probably stay a little closer and go chase some smallmouth. See if you can get one of those fat girls to eat a fly.
  16. For something simple like a fly then one beer should be fine. Now if it steps up to something about a shipment of cocaine or a bunch of bodies then I'll have to bump it up to a sixer.
  17. You want me to lie to your wife???? Yeah I ain't got no problems with that.
  18. I think what that tells us is they will just about eat anything if you present it right. Not knocking BH's flies, he ties some killer stuff.
  19. Not that I'm aware of.
  20. Off of 435 East close to Bannister Mall. It was a "few" years ago.
  21. The worst situation she ever put us in wasn't even her fault, unless being blonde and beautiful is a fault. I stopped at a QT to take a leak and grab some snacks. I knew it wasn't in the best part of town but I had been in there many times before and didn't think this time would be any different. I'm not even a little bit racists but we stood out in this particular neighborhood if you know what I'm saying. We picked out our stuff and then I went to the bathroom while she paid for it. I made it a quick one and come out of the bathroom to find three guys standing right behind her at the counter. And I mean right behind her, almost against her. They pretty much had her pinned against the counter. She saw me and I could tell she was terrified. So I pushed my way through the crowd of people and grabbed the first guy I came to by the back of the neck and forcibly removed him. Grabbed our stuff off the counter. Grabbed my wife and headed for the door. But the entire way to the car I'm raging mad and letting everybody in the vicinity know it. I'm sure the N word was used. The F bomb was flowing freely. And I'm pretty sure I threatened to kill everyone in the store. But I can't stand intimidation. This is why I feel that if you act crazy enough then nobody will even attempt to stop you. People came out of that store just to watch us leave. And nobody spoke a single word. I thought I was going to get beat or shot or something, but they all just stood there with this amazed look on their faces. About 5 miles down the road once we had both calmed down my wife told me that she never even got a chance to pay for our stuff.
  22. You got one of those too?? That's awesome. Mine has put me into some pretty interesting situations but if you act crazy enough most of these "men" will just walk away quietly. Brings back memories of Quick Trip store in the wrong part of KC where I surely should have lost my life. Good times.
  23. Well they might. You are just never there to see it happen. One thing is for sure though. Just when you think you have it figured out they do something to let you know you were wrong. I love fishing.
  24. Skate a gurgler across the surface at night.
