  1. Or learn to cook and you won't notice a difference. Not that I condone eating bass. That will get you shot around here.
  2. Ben that is some crazy awesome stuff. What a vision. I love techie stuff and even though I don't fish Table Rock it looks like I'm going to spend twenty bucks just to play. Just out of my own nosy-butt curiosity, what is the process to keep the discs cleaned. Looks like some are already getting some growth. Great stuff though, I love it.
  3. eewwwwweeeeaaaahhhhhhhh
  4. I know this has nothing to do with what you are talking about really, but it's still interesting.
  5. I'm not sure but it has some water coming into it for sure. The river gauge at 215 bridge near Morrisville is showing it at around 2,200 cfs. For comparison it was at 67 cfs just a couple of days ago.
  6. I'm not saying that you won't find some fish deeper throughout the year, just saying you would be surprised what you will find up shallow. But just like with the deeper bite you have to find the correct locations.

    What's Cooking?

Whaaaaa? Never heard of it but it sounds interesting. Might have to try it but I've never had a problem just using honey. Yes there is going to be some runoff but that happens with all rubs. It stays on better than you think.
  8. My experience at Stockton is that a lot of quality largemouth spend the year in a lot shallower than you would expect.
  9. Second pic is awesome.

    What's Cooking?

Now some deep fried sandwiches are a good thing. PB&J, sausage biscuit, cheeseburger. All good stuff. I think it was the amount of lettuce on the JJ that sent it south. Me and a couple of guys used to get together frequently on Friday, that's why we called it Fried Friday. Drink some beer, fry some food. I think the only things that ever truly sucked were ham hocks and that JJ lettuce bomb. My favorite thing we fried was a sandwich. Well sort of a sandwich. Fried bacon on a krispy kreme bun dunked in a thin funnel cake batter and then fried. Of course you have to cover that with powdered sugar as soon as it comes out. Still have no idea why I'm overweight though.
  11. You must not be familiar for the agility of the Ness, fly fishing ninja.

I once tried to deep fry a Jimmy Johns sandwich. It sucked.
  13. I haven't fished Stockton much in a couple of years. But I did fish it a lot from 1986 through that time. I never saw an increase in the spots. Never. I could go to areas and catch a bunch quickly, my kids liked that. But when I was bass fishing I rarely ran across any. It was mostly largemouth and smallmouth. Things must have changed quickly. Or I just fished in areas that they didn't care for.
  14. I caught one doing the same thing when I was in 8th grade. My dad was thrilled. Used to catch a lot of bullfrogs when I was a kid in Oklahoma. Dangle a texas rigged worm next to them and they would take it every time. It's a whole different type of fight to land one. Hooked a big water snake on a topwater once. Fishing around the big rock at Cedar Ridge campground waiting for enough light to run up the lake. I saw something hit my chug bug but when I would reel it in it was like nothing was there, just extra weight. He was hooked right in the mouth so I really think he hit it. I'm sure we woke some people up. Three guys in a bassboat with a live snake makes quite a bit of noise.
  15. Well she has a really nice beard.
  16. High Fence Smallmouth??? Yuck.
  17. 1. Probably blocked. It was last summer can't think it would be much better now. Still passable though. 2. About 6 hours. Give or take a couple.
  18. Not sure what fly you tied but yes it can be tough with a 5wt. But it can be done. Just have to down size a bit but that's not a bad thing. I used a 5wt for a long time and still do. I also use an 8wt. Maybe a little much but I love that rod. Usually using a floating line but I'm getting more into sink tips. Mono 6-10lb on the floating lines and fluoro 6-10 on the sinkers. Both 5-6ft long. A heavier weight rod would be great but you can do a lot with a 5wt if that's what you already have. The flies don't have to huge to catch a smallmouth. Something on the top, in the middle, and those clousers on the bottom. That's all you need to have a whole lotta fun. When you say "above the lake" which lake do you mean?
  19. Going to take a decent drone to be able to do it. Not sure if I want a grand hovering out over the ocean. It would be cool to get one that would carry a wiggle minnow out as far as I could and then just drop it. That would be much better on my heart than wading with the sharks.

Why is Audrey the only one that looks happy? I bet she's a funny kid.
  21. And I have yet to see anyone in the bass tournament world use one. I think it was more of a marketing gimmick than anything. You will notice that a lot of rod manufacturers have backed away from this or started offering those rods that were limited to 7' 11" in other lengths. I like the shorter rod because it fits in the canoe much easier. I haven't lost any distance due to the shorter length either but I don't feel the need for real long casts unless I'm fishing the beach.
  22. Dude I didn't degrade his business, the people that own it did that.
  23. This is one that I plan on doing.
  24. Yeah they have let that business slide big time. Last time I went by there the lot was empty but up the road you couldn't even find a place to park. Folks have to feel comfortable walking into your business. There is nothing inviting about Lakey's.
