  1. That looks really good. I haven't been working on any like I should but this has inspired me to get back at it.
  2. Pomme de Terre would be my choice.
  3. Thanks guys. And no I didn't squoosh him. I did think about taking him back to my office and feeding him to my pet bluegills. They would have loved him to death. But he looked pretty excited for what was ahead so I left him to his business.
  4. Thanks everyone. When I first noticed it, it was almost solid white. I guess it just came out. By the time I went in and grabbed the camera and changed lenses it had already colored up quite a bit. Didn't have time to stay and watch it fully ripen.
  5. I think he was talking about the stuff you are posting on here.

    Cicada

Found this little guy breaking out and getting ready for flight.
  7. There are always a few. I've caught several over the years, mostly small, but still interesting.
  8. Some of you guys need to look closely at the "system" your are using. You may be getting them clean, but you are destroying them in the process.
  9. You're a funny guy Wrench.
  10. I have nothing in any of this. If i catch a crappie I'm not going to measure it anyway. Just dump it back in the lake. But I do have to ask a question. What is the benefit of being able to measure without removing the hook? Not trying to be a smart a.., I just don't understand the benefit. The way I see it I'm going to have to remove the hook one way or another at some point.
  11. To me LOZ fishes better in the winter months. Maybe it just fits my style of fishing better but always seem to catch more and better fish on LOZ in the winter. I'm not going to be on that water in the summer though. But if you want beauty, Table Rock is the place to be. Well at least out of those two options.
  12. Black at night. Other than that just the plain old nickel and gold.
  13. You're out of your element Donnie. Geez I love that movie.
  14. My favorite crank when I was a kid was a Norman's Little Scooper. I need to get one out and see if they still like it.
  15. I just take pictures. Maybe someday I'll write the stories but you know what they say about pictures. I have little desire to keep a log full of water temp and moon phases. I'm sure there is some great information to be gained but at this point I just really don't care. Put me outside and I'm already happy, everything after that is just icing on the cake.
  16. I'd rather watch soccer, at any level, than to sit through another baseball game or Nascar race. Yes the NFL and MLB and NBA may be watched and followed by many more people. But when I was in school there wasn't a soccer team, there weren't any soccer players getting recruited to play at college. I don't even pay attention to it still to this day but I know kids that are at college on soccer scholarships. It's just going to take time.
  17. Yes it is.
  18. Alright I lied. The first dslr I ever owned was 6mp. It was a D40. Nice pic Lee. Now get you a Micro lens and look at the fun you can have.
  19. Bingo! My first dslr was 5mp. It took some beautiful pictures. Current camera is 12mp and I don't see any reason to go bigger for my use. I have a nice 20 x 30 print from that 12mps. 24mp wouldn't make it any better, but it would make file storage a lot more difficult than it already is. And always remember that 12mp on a dslr is not the same as 12mp on a point and shoot.
  20. Well that's an odd way to look at flooding. Creates jobs? What about the people who live or have businesses next to the water? It may be creating jobs but it's not creating any income to pay for those jobs.
  21. almost choked on a donut.
  22. Yep I gave up on Discovery.
  23. Hey Jodie I found you a new avatar. Not sure I understand someone coming on a fishing forum and getting upset because people are discussing fishing??? If you have something more intelligent to discuss then let's hear about it.
  24. And thank goodness for that.
  25. Try a different bait. Some of them have a tighter/different wobble and will get hung up a lot less. You also have to feel what your bait is doing. Most of those hangups can be avoided by easing it through the tough spots. You can drag a flat wart through a brushpile if your careful. Bumping those crank baits around is what creates the bites. Don't give up.
