    What's Cooking?

The Amish don't fish for smallies. Just one of the myriad enjoyable and life affirming things the Amish DON'T DO. Your selective admiration is appallingly condescending.
  2. Lack of fishing success is not a governmental regulation problem.
  3. DOH! Nice fish. Obviously it's your fishing prowess, not your "rowboat."
  4. No, I am not. Wrench seems well adjusted. Drift boats on Ozark streams. Gawd. However, if it makes one happy, and gets one out to fish, certainly isn't illegal, then, by all means, get after it. (Oars?)
  5. In Ozark waters, one can stand on a jon boat with a trolling motor and cast a fly. With less work and less hassle. One won't look as picturesque, and needn't wear a bandanna around ones neck to complete the fishing tableau. But, you already have your albatross, so, good luck, and start rowing.

    What's Cooking?

Decided to eat mushrooms tonight. Still tripping. Wife not happy, as we are going to Tuscaloosa tomorrow. No cooking involved. Good luck with all y'all tomatoes!
  7. Had to look that one up. Daddy likes! Skin "eruptions." My teenage skin described in one word. Sorry. Off top water topic. Fish like them. Always have one ready to go.
  8. Psoriasis? Lameness? Milquetoastness? DOH!
  9. Poor buzzbaits. Shunted aside and neglected. (Don't worry. Your time will come again).
  10. Your vehicle costs how much? Insurance? Gas? Your fly rods cost how much? Your fly reels, go for what? Line? Flies, boxes, other equipment. How much? So, you are arguing over $30? (Ahem. Principle don't you know Joe). Oh. OK.
  11. I've done well before on the Buffalo with big heat. Top water definitely. Super fluke, definitely. We were on the water all day though. And adults. Don't know about your kids. It can become quite miserable when the sun is blaring down on you in this heat, and there is no real shade in sight. Sun screen and water regardless, you don't want to create a negative impression about floating. Choose wisely.
  12. Is that a canoe with an outrigger?
  13. We are lucky to have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of stream miles to fish for smallmouth bass (in this case), ANYTIME we desire. Nitpick all you want, but we are fortunate that we have a dedicated state agency, MDC, looking after ALL of our interests, which is their job. Our streams are open for everyone, which is the way it should be. Plus, there are "managed" areas that benefit certain citizens who want something more, I don't know, 'special." Regardless, I have no problem with jet boaters using Ozark streams. Or flotillas of canoes containing inebriated "adults." Look at all the fish pictures and fishing reports on this forum. I would venture to say that most are positive. Obviously, big fish are being caught often. If not, people had a story to tell and felt good about going out to our wonderful streams. I agree that there are jet boat (or canoe or jon boat or inner tube) users that behave in a less than appropriate way. But those people are in the minority (although no consolation when one is in the middle of it). There is nothing to fix. In sum, be happy to get out and fish just about anywhere you want. It is quite something to have that opportunity. Hopefully, you won't run into "freedom."

    What's Cooking?

The tyranny of guests with food issues. It's an insult, not to mention bad manners, that guests impose their various idiosyncratic needs on otherwise accommodating hosts. Give the guest(s) gluten free oatmeal without sugar and caffeine and then tell them to go chew your pesticide free grass outside. Remind them it would be a natural colonic and will leave them clean and morally pure.
  15. Roll Tide!
  16. Nice fish. One doesn't get lucky sitting on the sidelines.
  17. It was a mud hole yesterday at 44 bridge when I passed over it twice. Level is fine. I doubt it will clear up much by this weekend, unless you're going WAY upstream.
  18. Blue Springs Creek in Franklin County Missouri has all the 5 inch beautiful trout you want. How do I know? Because trout fishermen love their GoPros and want to share their love of catching colorful minnows for the world to see. Thanks for your daily updates. And sharing. And pictures. Today is Monday July 11 2016.

Nancy is tired of your food. She says to shut the "f' up and start paying attention to her body,
  23. I agree. We should memorialize people we love by doing what they love to do. Which is not mumbling hymns in a church followed by a pot luck dinner. (sorry. if you like that sort of thing, gosh bless and happy trails.)
  24. From sketchy Mexicans and walleyes in Franklin County to sketchy home grown anglers in Reynolds County in the same thread! "Welcome to the Wide World of Sports, I'm Chris Schenkel..."
