  1. I know the fish are very happy you are not bothering them the last 5 weeks.Get well soon
  2. that is a big copperhead!!
  3. it did make for great fishing
  4. I can tell you exactly what that is.The outflow at the spring during that Christmas rain reached almost 10000 cubic feet for a short time.4 turbines running at the same rate raises tanyecomo 9 feet from 701 to 710.I have drifted taney many times at that flow .You tell me how wide upper Taney is compared to Bennett Springs. The water from the spring washed those fish out of the hatchery not the river. When they open all the gates at Tablerock 4 feet that put the water at 726 25 feet over normal Taney pool.Close to 100000 cubic feet per second. Those are apples and oranges for sure.I know you can't argue with someone that doesn't know what they are talking about.
  5. Hey No Luck,I guessed you missed the picture of the Highway bridge with water up on the wall above the 3 openings.water from the spring not the river pal
  6. impressive pic.I hope those weren't all his in one day.still he is the one in possession.you need to be able to identify your fish by some visible means.
  7. those are big hooks on a DD22.Did you snag yourself or were you hooked in the mouth?I caught a Bagleys DB 3 once with a 7 lb channel attached to it.Those things roll like an croc when they hit the floor of the boat with me attached to the back hook.I feel your pain brother.
  8. talk about no flow at Bennett, tell that to the hatchery manager when all the fish washed out of the hatchery.
  9. boulders did nothing at the upper end of taney, just a waste of money
  10. hey Rick,is it hard to sight fish with that catfish float blowing around in the wind ?
  11. fished Bennett last week, mon, tue caught over 50 fish in one spot both days on 15 ft sink tip line.woolybuggers and bead head cracklebacks.great fishing
  12. I know a guy that works for the Coe ,works from home so he is always out at the local lake fishing. What a gig.
  13. there is good smallmouth fishing at Wilson, milford and melvern lakes.the best smally fishing in ks. is at coffey co. lake.It is a powerplant lake down by New Strawn ks.You must check in and receive a pager before you go out on the lake, they will call you in during high winds. You must wear a lifejacket at all times. This being said, the smallmouth fishing is pretty good. The steam fishing in mo. occurs in so central mo to the elk river in the s.w. mo.Call the Mo.Dept of Conservation for their free fishing prospects book for more info. The elk river by Noel mo. or the Niangua river by Bennett Springs are the nearest to K.C.170 miles to either of them
  14. how about getting rid of the wake boats and jet skis,i will come down for that
  15. tell the wife you need a new boat, just saying!
  16. it is only a matter of time when a yaker gets killed on this waterway.Too much current on 4 turbins.Too much current with the flood gates open.Too much boat traffic on foggy days.I just know it won't be me
  17. such a neat creature. There is a God for sure.
  18. what he needs is a long string with a rock.Stick your finger in the water for the temp gage.going cheap with electronics does't get it.
  19. very nice,a trophy for sure
  20. yaks are going to be a ongoing problem on Taney.Inexperienced paddlers and 4 turbins will one day cost someone their life. The fog can come in at any time depending on the weather.I have seen the outfitters tie up the upper boat ramp on more than one occasion. It riles me when the fog is heavy, and yakers are putting in.so dangerous, they don't even know it.The water patrol needs to write everyone without lights on a foggy lake,go get em
  21. I am glad my homemade spinnerbaits hold up better than that
  22. nice job,the bigger ones with the orange colored meat are pretty tasty.I see so many people keeping more fish and fishing illegally than I care to believe that it is nice to see people obeying the rules, good job
