  1. Made our yearly December trip, and had similar results to other posters. WT: 56-57 Boat Depth: 45-75 ft Structure: Bluff ends with Deep cedars and chunk rock Caught about 25 fish with about 10 keepers (all three species). Majority of our fish were caught on the 2.8 Keitech with a 3/8 oz head slow rolled through the tree tops. I was also able to “video game” a couple nice Spots on the Damki rig. Here are a few pics from the trip.
  2. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good winter boot for fishing. I am looking for something that is waterproof and warm. I am willing to spend $125 or maybe a little more. I have looked a Huk, but do not see what I am looking for. Thank you for your help.
  3. Just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the veterans today. I know there are a number of the men and women who post on this board that serve and/or served our nation, and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!
  4. I use two setups: Smaller baits: Spinning Rod (Falcon Cara) and 8lb Invizx Larger baits: Casting Rod (Falcon Cara Jerkbait Special) and 10lb Invizx I will agree, I fatique faster with the spinning rod.
  5. My only connection is watching him on TV. It was amazing to watch him get into the zone and smash smallmouth on the Northern lakes. If I remember correctly, held the heaviest weight for a day until Table Rock a couple years ago. Is my memory accurate?
  6. Gentlemen, my goal of this post tonight was to honor the passing of a modern legend in the sport of bass fishing and a great family man. All I ask is to please keep it to talking about his legacy. I am a man of faith, however, my intention was not to enter into a discussion on the topic of spirituality. My goal was to discuss Aaron and bring his passing to the attention of all of my friends and fellow fishermen. If my comments touched off a touchy topic, I am humbly sorry and will request the post to be removed if necessary. I never had the honor of meeting Aaron. Anyone on the forum have a “personal” Aaron Marten story?
  7. It has been announced tonight that Aaron Marten has passed on to be with our eternal Father in heaven tonight. His wife posted about an hour ago that his terrible battle with brain cancer ended this evening. Please keep his family in your prayers along with the other brother we lost this week. Definitely have a heavy heart after this week.
  8. We lost a great man and fisherman, and the Lord gain a son. Blessings to his family and all those needing his comfort.
  9. I agree. I think we "merge" the two events into our traditional March event. Great way to kick off the season and remember why the brotherhood is so important.
  10. Good Luck this weekend to all of you. Unfortunately, Jim and I will not be able to attend.
  11. Jim and I may be in. Just looked at my calendar and things are looking better.
  12. Sold pending payment
  13. Parting with my deep crankbait rod. All originaL material. $125 local pick up (Kansas City) $175 Shipped Thank you
  14. Here was my purchase from Tackle Warehouse! Had to take advantage of Labor Day Sale!
  15. Congratulations! The season was fantastic, and I loved the FS1 coverage. I simply went from FS1 to Bassmaster all four days! Tremendous coverage for the sport. Many people really underestimate the adversity of bass fishing. Looking forward to the 2022 season already.
  16. If we are available, I know Jim and I would be down for coming to a tournament or social event.
  17. Words cannot express the loss to our fishing community. Praying for his family.
  18. Still not sure how to use all that fancy equipment. Every trip I try to learn something new.
  19. Wt. 82-83 Clarity: 4-6 feet Primary Locations: long flat points with Shad (8-20 ft) Baits: topwater, swimbait, and football jigs Found Bass early in the morning starting at dawn. The bite in early lasted until 8:30-9:00. Fish seemed to be running in small packs or singles. Did not find a large school, but they were pushing 2-3” Shad. Fan casted or targeted fish that were aggressively pushing. They would hit the bait immediately and might give you 1-2 opportunities to hook up. The fish were a mixed bag of spotted bass and smallies ranging from 12-15 inches (just fun to catch). I also used a 3/8 or 1/2 oz Football Jig to target fish lower in the water column, and the jig scored my biggest fish of the trip. Overall, caught 20-25 fish total. Not bad for my first summer trip in a number of years. Best part of the trip was seeing my grandma for the first time since winter 2019. We spent close to 6 hours just catching up.
  20. We will all continue to pray for his recovery! Thank you for letting us know.
  21. Praying Bo and Get Well Soon
  22. Glad we all demonstrated how little we know about this lake!
  23. Is artistic work on baits is awesome! Glad he is doing well and I pray God blesses him with excellent health.
