  1. Saw that spy baits played big in the last two Elite events. Anyone using them with success for suspended fish on Table Rock. I am curious about the set up.
  2. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with the Beck family. Bill I did not have the honor to meet him, but everyone spoke so high of him.
  3. I like the new Zman drop shot boat and the new smaller Menace.

    Fishing???

Anyone been fishing on the river this summer? I am looking to make a run in late July for a couple of days with my son.
  5. Bill, great report. While you were out Comey testified today, and your Wifi issue is due to the Russians.
  6. Great Day! Congratulations!
  7. Jim and I fished out of Shell Knob for 2.5 days and caught about 60 total fish. Here are the details. 4/22--started the OA One Bass off my family dock. We tried some early power fishing to no avail, and ultimately settled on finesse. We caught a number of fish on Ned and shakey heads (Zoom Speed Craw) in about 5-12 feet of water in the spawning coves. No giants, but about a half dozen keepers. About 11am, we pulled into a transition bank with some submerged trees on it that I have fished in the past. I saw a Spot surface on a small school of baitfish. I proceeded to throw a small Keitech bait to him, and bang. Threw a second cast and another fish. We decided to pull off into about 45 feet and cast in to the trees. Soon after I caught my big fish for the weekend, 3.22 lb Largemouth. It also claimed runner up in the OA Tournament. We caught a couple more smaller bass and then moved on to the next bank. Same result, and Jim started whacking fish on a modified "NED" drop shot rig. The last stop for the day was a deep point with more trees. As soon as we pulled in, the water boiled for about 2 minutes. Fish were smashing shad. Jim caught a solid 2.5lb white bass on a Spittin' Image. We also caught about half dozen bass on swimbaits. We ran out of time, and headed to Eagle Rock. We had a fantastic time with the other forum members, and was happy that we all caught fish. I am looking forward to next year all ready. Also, GREAT FOOD!!!!!!!!! Way too much, but great! 4/23--started with topwater, and had limited success. We returned to the points from the day before, and the deeper point with the trees was the winner. I think I caught about 12 nice spotted bass off the point on the Keitech bait, and Jim caught three more on top. The deal was throw up on the point, count to 10, and then slooooooowwww roll it back to the boat. The rod would really just load up, very few whacking the bit. Once the bite died down, we tried shallow hoping the warming sun would get them going, but it was here and there. We caught a few more on the Ned, but no real pattern. 4/24--Headed back to our "point" for a short session before we headed home. We caught about 15 more fish, but struggled to get the schoolers to hit a spook. It was better to throw the swimbait and let it fall through the attack zone, and they would pick it up. The biggest lesson of the weekend was that the deeper fish seemed less impacted by the rising water. The deep bight 35-50 feet was still there on the points. Best baits: Keitech 3.3 (Electric Shad), NED (PBJ and California Craw), Shakey Head (Speed Craw), and Spittin' Image. Water temp was consistent at 64-67. Good Luck and Be safe, we will be praying for all of you over the next week. Dave
  8. Out of curiosity, what will the next 36 hours of rain do to the fishing? I know early in the year it could shut things down because it would drop water temps. Are the fish locked into the Spring pattern on the lake?
  9. My recommendation is learn the "Improved/Reverse Albright" knot. I have been using it for about 2 years, and the vast majority of break offs are at the bait.
  10. I start with California Craw or PBJ most of the time
  11. My advise...read ALL of the reports over the last 10 days and go back to the archive for the same dates in previous years. There is so much valuable information it is unbelievable.
  12. We can bring some Chips and Case of Water
  13. Jim and I are in, and we can bring some chips and water
  14. I have a Navionics Chip for the Great Plaines and it includes all those maps. I can get you details if interested
  15. It happens to us all! All the best!
  16. I would go back and read Bill Babler's post from two weeks ago (Swimming Deep for Big Fish is Nothing New) on swimming the grub. Based on that information, your boat was probably on top of the fish. Try it, just a hunch. Good luck.
  17. Awesome! Love talking a son/daughter fishing!
  18. okay...I will take your word for it. Thank you
  19. I agree. I would go with 6 apiece. They hit different depths. Furthermore, shallow water can be a bear on RK Crawler. The bill is not made to smash rock in 2-4 feet of water. I have cracked a few bills this way. It is much better bouncing at 8-10 feet where the force is not as much; thus, less breakage. However, the Wart can take a beating in the shallower water, and many bites are off the deflection. All of my colors are craw. Phantom Green, Phantom Red, Phantom Brown, Molten Craw Warts (v37, v38, v62, and v63) This keeps it simple and to the point Good Luck and enjoy.
  20. Well.......I have now spent 6 hours watching The Bass Pros Seasons 1-4, grading papers, and now MLF. Although productive, I wish I was with ya'll on the lake! Snowing here in Kansas City too
  21. I hope that all of you made it out okay. Prayers from the Kansas City area
