Never been there, but I'll be interested to hear how you do. Good luck!

Nice cold rain falling out there this morning. We needed it, the water level in the roadside ditches was getting a little low.

Dang, sorry to see that. There's a business called Arkansas Boat Restoration in Rogers. 479.899.7549. Haven't used them myself, so can't give a recommendation either way.

This year there was a strain of flu the vaccine did not cover. And I don't know that in any year the shots cover 100% against all the strains out there. But since I get them for free, and don't have any reaction to them, I go ahead and get one. When I say free, it's free because of the health insurance I have which is definitely not free.

Nice one! Heard a report from someone else that it was tough today. But that's a very small sample size.

I've been following the stock market for close to 40 years, these things happen and it always looks ugly at the bottom. It presents a buying opportunity if you have a long term outlook.

They had just pulled Bull down to 660, now it is back up to 669 and as of yet they are not running water, I guess because of downstream high water. So, just based on past operations, they'll pull Beaver down to 1128 or so, then stop running Beaver, pull TR down to 915, then they'll pull Bull down to 660 (again). Barring anymore heavy rain, they'll get Beaver down pretty soon, take about 1-2 weeks to get TR down (unless they do something drastic like open flood gates), then Bull is going to take close to 3 weeks to get down to 660. Based on that (and that's just a WEG), we'll need probably 5 weeks at least just to get the whole chain down to where it was just a few days ago. And that's without any additional significant rain.

I bet those crappie are tasty! Wish we had them in good numbers here in the Bella Vista lakes, there's a few, but not enough for me to spend a day targeting them. Tons of bluegill and bass however.

I'm looking at Beaver as my next destination, Indian Creek is useable, you've got to wade through a foot of water to use the dock, but that's not a major deal. Tough area to catch fish, but sometimes it can be pretty good.

Ramp is way underwater, most of the parking lot will be flooded so you may have to park along one of the access roads. You'll have to launch off the parking lot, the slope isn't very steep so you'll have to back way in. In other words it will be challenging. I'm not even thinking about going there myself. The lake itself around Big M should be OK, usually there's not much of an issue with floating debris around Big M, but it can happen.

Centuries ain't what they used to be.

Hey buddy, I hear you on the paperwork, always was the worst part of any job I had. As far as prepared - I kept a few of the hybrids I caught a couple of days ago, and I may go get some redworms next week and see if I can add some bluegill to the stash. And IMO, bluegill are better eating than hybrids. That being said, I can eat hybrids, white bass, and stripers (they all taste about the same), and enjoy them.

Here comes some more.

Having nothing better to do, took a ride down to the dam to see what was going on. All the floodgates are open. There's a park/picnic area that runs along the road that goes over the dam. The gates to the park are closed, but there is a place to park at one of the entrances with room for three vehicles. I parked there and took a rod with me down to the bank. There was a fellow fishing there, tossing a swimbait and he had a 15 lb. striper on a stringer. I threw a Keitech around for about 10 casts, but the wind was blowing about 20 MPH and it was cold, I like to fish, but not that much. However if anyone is looking for bank access, there's probably about a mile of it in that area. If the entrance to the park is full or closed, there are places nearby where you can park off the side of the road and walk a little ways to fish. There's obviously some stripers in the area, they aren't loners, and I bet a walleye or two, with some smallies and spots. There's some bank access to the river below the dam even with the high water.

Those concrete picnic tables are fish magnets, I think instead of sinking brush piles, MDC should be sinking concrete picnic tables. š

Saw this on another site: Coronavirus Pandemic, day 17.If anyone is still out there, Iām alive but struggling. Food is running low. Down to only 459 days worth. My hands are super sanitized and my butt is super clean. Down to 1599 rounds of ammo (dropped 1 round down the heat vent while doing daily inventory). Power still on, but for how long? Missing human interaction but I have my dogs.. for now.. (I'm soaking their food in BBQ sauce in an attempt to marinate them from the inside in case I have to eat them) . I fear dark days ahead. News is all bad. Neighbors have attempted to leap from windows to their death, (or near death... most have single story homes so they are badly bruised). Blew through most Netflix series so may have to rewatch some again..Basic Survival is a definite challenge. I vow to persevere to the end, I am a survivor! Please, if there is life out there, communicate with me to help preserve my sanity..*Copy and pasted from another fellow survivor

Gas futures for April closed at 67 cents per today. I can't believe it will hold that low for long, but if it does, we could see retail gas down to the $1.20 to $1.30 range.
-
If the parks are closed, can we still fish the picnic tables?
-
WTG! Next time out on TR, I'll be swimming a Keitech for sure.

For some people feeding the kids is not tops on their priority list, so people in the community have to help out.

If you're sitting around the house and are looking for something to do, this site has literally thousands of old PC games to download. I have loaded a few in the past, they are compatible with Windows 10 and are a fraction of the cost of what they were when new. https://www.old-games.com/

I wonder if fishing is considered "outdoor exercise"? The order in San Francisco bans any acivites that aren't essential: no drinking at bars, no haircuts by barbers and no dinner parties. Restaurants can operate only for takeout or delivery. Outdoor exercise is allowed, but gyms are closed.
