  1. Glad to hear ya'll got into them!
  2. We want a review once you have been out on the water. And no comments from the peanut gallery (you know who I'm talking about ).
  3. This: (However it costs $500!)
  4. Myself and Muddy were out there this morning also, we went out of Big M. Fishing was a bit slow for us also, I am also blaming it on the cold morning. We caught a few nice largemouth to start and Muddy got a fat keeper sized spot, I think we got 4 or 5 that went between 2-3 lbs. One it got later in the AM, we caught some fish, but smaller, in the 12 inch range. We never found a bunch of them, just one here and there. All Ned fish except one caught on a c-rig. Also noted that the water temp was 54 to start, saw 56 when we left around 1230.
  5. Looks to be very windy with possibility for T-storms Friday. Could make it interesting.
  6. Yeah I fish 6# Invisx all winter on my Ned setup, it's been fine. I do check for abrasions, nicks etc. and if I find them, I'll retie. Not going to try and sell people on it however because if it ain't working for someone they should try something else.
  7. Actually the Dave with the report is the "Other Dave from Kansas", the Other Dave you are referring to is just Dave. Just keeping things in order here. Nice fish Other Dave! Glad to see you got that young'un into them again!
  8. I have a Tatula and have not experienced any issues like yours. You might want to take a look at the T-wing deal to see if there is a burr on it or something that might be nicking your line, that InvisX gets nicked or kinked it can put a weak spot on it.
  9. Where's Vernon?
  10. Good point, they will keep your cheeks (the ones on your face) a tad warmer on a cold morning boat ride.
  11. Thanks for the info, DR's appt. for me today and a vet appt. for the dog tomorrow is keeping me off the water, sure would like to be out there.
  12. 12 volt. Just thought it was funny that the guy brought his own battery, but it makes perfect sense for someone that wants to look at a used TM.
  13. The sign that a thread has spiraled out of control, then blown up, with the debris sinking to the bottom of the lake, is when the golf talk starts.
  14. I sold a TM a few years ago, the buyer met me at a grocery store parking lot, he had a battery in the trunk of his car, TM ran fine off his battery and he bought it.
  15. I'm a big fan of Dtrs5kprs mushroom style heads and putting a cut Zinker on them. Austin, here's a link to videos that Dtrs put together on the Ned, several posts down. Lots of good info there. http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/topic/54987-so-you-have-ned-rig-questions/
  16. Big males maybe?
  17. Lately is has been 1/16 or 1/8 for me, a few weeks ago I was using 1/8 all the time for casting distance and getting it down deep faster, but now that things are warming up I am throwing 1/16 more and fishing shallower. You should be getting some bites on 1/15 size, what brand of head and hook size is it? Are you throwing a cut Zinker?
  18. I was thinking that with these warm temps there might be some males (bass) getting ready.
  19. I hear you on the sunburn, my face burns real easy, takes about 2 hours on the water without protection and my face will get cooked.
  20. Did get some today, saw some fish 20 feet down in a cove, mix of small bass and bluegills, tired a wacky rigged Berkley trout worm hoping to catch some redear, but caught a couple of small bass and one nice bluegill. I think that if I had used redworms I could have caught a few, they would peck around at the trout worm, but didn't seem convinced it was real food (and it ain't).
  21. This afternoon I fished one of the Bella Vista lakes, started out with Dirt and only caught one on it, switched over to PB&J and caught about 7 on that color. Overall it was much slower than I expected, water temp hit 63 and maybe the rapid rise had the fish buffaloed. Caught one sorry looking bass, had the head and body size to be a 6 lber if healthy, but skinnier than heck and looks to be dying of old age. My guess is it's an old male. No fight at all, I mean none, thought I was dragging in a stick. Look at those sunken eyes.
  22. Couple of nice looking fish. Did you happen to see the water temp? Curious as to what this warm weather the last couple of days has done to water temps.
  23. I know the other Dave from Kansas fishes PB&J and does very well with it, and I think, and I emphasize "think" that smallies prefer PB&J over Dirt. But, relatively few smallies on the upper end of the lake, if I fished further down I might lead with PB&J. Muddy Water throws PB&J often and does well also.
  24. If you decide you like it, send Dtrs a PM and order his finesse heads, they are the best out there IMO and very reasonably priced.
  25. Dirt is my go to color and if it doesn't seem to be working I'll throw PB&J. One thing I like about Dirt is that it is USUALLY very salty, I like to stretch the tail and get a lot of that salt out and you get a very foamy bait that has a lot of action that can be imparted with very little rod movement, floats off the bottom well also. And I cut the Zinkerz as Dtrs mentions. I don't do too much thinking as far as cloudy/sunny stuff, I just roll with Dirt. If the water is murky I might experiment with something with some glitter in it like Cali Craw.
