Owners are good. I almost always replace round split rings on crank eyes with wire snaps. I hate tying knots on small split rings and trying to get the knot to not get into the gap in a small split ring.

I recall netting a fish or two that you caught on an STX.

TW must be monitoring our threads. Check out the today's daily special. I'm sure that these are too big for small split rings, but just thought it was funny to see them on the daily special.

Could be that they knew what they were looking for and knew what they were doing. Doesn't at all sound like a spur of the moment crime of opportunity.

Well I am not going too work to hard to sell you on the Texas tackle ones, but the pics are a bit misleading, the point is fairly thin and sharp. I have used them anytime I replace hooks or split rings on any small cranks, down to Shad Rap 5's.

I can see it being busy with this warm weather. I was over there a few weeks ago and got 8 or so fishing a Ned, but they were all 12" bass. About 6-7 years ago that lake was a great lake for jerk baits, but hasn't been the same the last few years, bass may have been over exposed to the JB's.

HAHA, that is funny. I remember Babler telling a similar story where he took 2 guys fishing, they both told him they could use a bait caster, and it turned into a backlash-a-thon.

Just a few notes: Phil has suggested we donate any $$ collected to CAM (Christian Action Ministries) they maintain a food bank and feed quite a few people in the Springfield area. We can make the donation in the name of the winner. We are asking for a $10 donation, but it is voluntary. I'll bring plastic utensils, plates, and cups. 50 people? That has to be a pretty good sized boat. And it's going to hit 65 MPH? A boat with that capability would cost a few bucks.

I would like to see them place some rocks on the gravel run outs. Not a lot, but several small piles of head sized rocks close together. Seems like whenever you can find some rocks on those run outs there are usually bass around them. Stumps would probably work too, but you'd have to anchor them to the bottom.

Make sure you video it.

The hate comes from me - HAHA just kidding. I count them too (bass) and keep records. It helps me remember stuff like what they were biting on last April, because otherwise I would not remember.

Yes they do vary as far as salt content. Seems like PB&J and GP/Orange are the worst at having less salty worms. At least, that has been my experience.

I'd like to see them stock some spotted bass fingerlings that were bred from those 10 lb. plus spots they have in California. I think those CA fish are Alabama strain and we have the smaller Kentucky strain.

I'll glom on to Champs report as I went yesterday myself, but didn't fish as far up the White as Champ was. Still a good Ned bite, not quite as good as Monday, but I did put 25 in the boat, with maybe a half dozen borderline keepers, no bigguns. The fish I caught were still mostly deep, 15-25 FOW, but I did catch a half dozen on a Rock Crawler that were in the 6-8 foot range. Water temps were 47-49. No smallmouth at all yesterday.
