  1. Ketchup, you could launch at the big public ramp which is right outside of Grove. To the mouth of the Elk from there you'd have about a 5-7 mile run. I heard that it took Edwin a 1/2 hour to get to his spot from Grove. I also heard that Edwin damaged his prop on the last day up there, so watch out, lots of wood up there and it is shallow - I have not been up there myself, BTW. This resort is on the lower Elk, they say they have a ramp you can launch at for $5. I'd call them to verify, but it would save you some time if you can launch there. http://www.bluebluffharbor.com/ Personally, I would not go fish that spot, it is going to get hammered, plenty of other places to fish on the main lake.
  2. Bill you've just got to write a book one of these days. I was watching the live feed yesterday for a bit, Clunn was a machine, constantly throwing that chatterbait, soon as he pulled it out of the water, her fired off another cast. If you're 69 years old, it ain't easy to do that for 4 straight days. He's in great shape for his age.
  3. Catching those smallies will warm you up. Look at the tail on that one, I bet it was a hard fighter.
  4. Welcome!
  5. Nice one Cal!
  6. Yes indeed, I'm sure he really wants this one.
  7. He just put one in the boat that looked to be around 5 lbs. You could see his hands shaking after he put it in the live well and adjusted his bait.
  8. Wow, great fish!

    Madness

How about that UALR beating Purdue? Now they get to play Iowa State. Lots of upsets so far.
  10. Welcome to the site! I don't fish Taney so I can't give you any help on where to wade, but there is a Taney forum on the forums page where you'll probably get some help there on where to wade.
  11. Another vote for Spring Craw, and Green Craw.
  12. So the forecast calls for "Showers in the evening" today. I launched at about 0730, and 10 minutes after I started fishing, the rain started, and it rained just about all day. Even got a nice shower of ice pellets at one point. But it was a good day for the Ned bite, caught close to 25, nothing big enough to hang over the fireplace, but a few keepers came to the boat. Got spots, LM's, smallies, and a meanmouth for a Babler slam. Mostly shallow fish, out in front of the buck brush or off chunky banks. I got a couple casting a drop shot with a Yamamoto Shad Shape Worm, broke it off on a snag and went back to the Ned, but I believe it would've worked for some more fish. Water temps were 51-53, water still stained green.
  13. Good stuff - I fished that wobble head/Speed Craw today for a bit and did not get a bite on it - should've dyed the claws orange!
  14. Good stuff, I thought I was the only guy on the forum that fished c-rigs, good to see someone else fishing them.
  15. I got the regular Tatula a few weeks ago, so far it has really impressed me for a reel in it's price range. Don't know if you know this, but I believe you can get a Huk hoodie for $5 if you kept your receipt and the UPC code off the box. You can get the form to send in from Tackle Warehouse, just look up the Tatula on their site and you should see the link to click for the form.
  16. I would not hold out much hope, but you can PM Phil, maybe he can retrieve it.
  17. Very nice, some pretty impressive smallies they are holding.
  18. Beautiful brown, thanks for the pic!
  19. We caught a couple of whites yesterday, but never got into a concentration of them.
  20. Spring break - that explains why all the boats were out there. I think spring break is next week for Arkansas. We saw that same cruiser yesterday afternoon. Also a pontoon cruising up the White blasting music.
  21. Ouch! Sorry to hear that.
  22. 96, just threw the shaky head for a bit, probably would have worked. I would think the swing jig should start working also. Might be time to start trying the Menace grub on the swing jig.
