  1. 20 bass in August is a great day.
  2. Do you use a trailer on it?
  3. Here's a link to Pete's report in case you don't have it: http://www.hookedonbass.com/ Bill posted a recent report also:
  4. Same thing going on here, had some pretty strong winds come through before the storm got here.
  5. Bill, I saw 81-83 for surface temps. Only saw one dead fish, and it was a carp. There are lots of shad and they look healthy and so do the bass. I think things are setting up nicely for some good fall fishing.
  6. Thanks for the info Jon!
  7. Great pics Brett! Those are some sweet flatties.
  8. *T* - That was the biggest spot of the bunch, the rest were 12-14" fish. But fat and healthy. Champ - They were all less than 20 feet, except for one. Steep chunk rock banks, in front of the bushes.
  9. Got out at 0630 and fished until 1 PM. Got a couple of spots on the drop shot, including my biggest spot, a nice 16" fish. Could not find any schools in my drop shot locations, just a random fish here and there. Picked up a 3/8 oz green pumpkin/orange jig and started working steep banks, didn't tear them up but caught another 8 or so doing that. All spots, except for one keeper large mouth. Had one on that looked to be in the 3 lb. neighborhood (give or take a couple of pounds) that got off halfway to the boat. Swimming the jig got me a couple of fish, might be able to catch some now on cranks or swim baits. Water is sort of brown/green with a few feet of visibility. Lots of shad, they are all over the banks and saw some big schools on the fish finder. Saw lots of bluegills on the finder, and was pestered all day long by them. Saw one dead carp, but that was it as far as dead fish. Water temps 81-83.
  10. Looking forward to seeing Mizzou visit Fayetteville...
  11. A large barge. With the 300 HP motor, has to be in the 80-100K $ range.
  12. They have come out with compact jump start batteries, they are lithium I believe. Weego's largest capacity measures in the neighborhood of 9" X 3" X 1.5". Supposedly enough capacity to start most gas engines and outboards. I do not own one or have seen one is use, just going by product claims. Do a search on "Weego".
  13. That sorta looks like the Kings, but I can't say for sure, let alone know the coordinates.
  14. There's a cave or two in the bluffs on the lower Kings. I have no idea how far back into the rock they go, and it's not something that I would personally check out. I have zero interest in crawling into holes in the rock.
  15. You know the fishing is tough when they won't eat a crawler. The few bass we caught seemed to like the Missile Baits drop craw. It's a small bait, 3" long. The Beaver bass have lockjaw right now, I'm sure there's a few guys out there getting them, but overall it is as tough as it gets. Maybe this front coming in will shake them up.
  16. That's good to hear, I was wondering if the Ned was still catching fish this time of year.
  17. Very nice!
  18. Good deal. I like to throw a 5" Senko rigged wacky style at those surfacing fish.
  19. August is just a tough time to fish, especially during the day.
  20. Yeah, I'd just label it delete myself.
  21. Double click on the message, when it opens, look upper right for a drop down with "Message" next to it. Click on the drop down, select "Leave the Conversation". That appears to delete the message as far as I can tell.
  22. As far as I can tell, to delete a message from your inbox, you need to double click on the message, then when the message opens, look for "Message" in the upper right corner. Click on the drop down arrow, and you'll see an option to "Leave the conversation". Click on that to delete the message.
  23. It sure beats a day in the office. You can also catch gills using the drop shot. Use an Eagle Claw long shank bream hook, bait with crickets or redworms. I've started doing that instead of the split shot above the hook method which is very effective also.
  24. Thanks for the report. Yesterday a couple of the gas stations just across the border in MO raised their price to 2.57 for 87 octane. The Walmart down the road from them was still at 2.30. Needless to say, the pumps at Wallie World were very busy.
