  1. Really close in the standings, have to wonder how Norfolk will fish tomorrow, didn't put out much size on day one. I'm rooting for my home town guy McClelland.
  2. The Rock has been relatively tough this spring, yeah some guys are getting them good of course, but it is not an easy deal out there. You might want to take a break from the tourneys, just get out there and fish and not have to worry about getting enough to weigh in. Experiment with some different stuff and just have fun. I have heard this story before - guys get into the tournament grind, get burned out and quit fishing. Get out and just have fun.
  3. Thanks for the report, sounds like some great fishing. Fish Doctor bite is a lot of fun.
  4. According to Basstrak, Powroznik has 5 in the box for 15 and change, and it's only 9 AM.
  5. I see that every time I fish one, but it usually happens when a fish grabs it and I swing and miss. Could be, like you are saying, the bait isn't rigged on there straight. If I had a bait that was doing that a lot, I'd cut it off and try another. Could be bluegills jacking around with it, but you should be able to feel them when they bite it.
  6. Very nice, those are some quality fish!
  7. Just took a look at BassTrak - It has Biffle in the lead with a 21 lb. and change bag for today. He almost always throws a wobble head, don't know if he threw it today, but I think it's a safe bet he did. BassTrak can sometimes be wrong. they should be weighing in soon..
  8. A really nice day to be out on the water. Caught 14 bass, one smallie and one largemouth that were around the 15" mark, and the rest were pretty much all 12-14" spots. Had the yips today, lost a couple of nice bass in the 2-3 lb. range at the boat and had a couple of hard pullers that got off before I could see them. Sometimes the fish win. Fish were off the banks a bit in 5-15 FOW. Most of the fish came on Carolina rigged lizards and craws. Caught one on a jig, and one on a wobbler. Tried a Whopper Plopper for a while early, but they did not like it. Caught what I believe is a meanie, but sure looks like a spot in the pic. He was darker than he looks.
  9. Hey hope your wife is doing better! Good luck on the fishing!
  10. Great fish Dave (and Dave)!
  11. I see Davis with 5 for 12 and change.
  12. Saw this pic on Bass Blaster. Caught on Oneida lake in NY. Considerable long arming going on, but a nice meanie. No weight given.
  13. Just checked in on the weigh in. A couple of big names, Evers and KVD did not catch limits. As in 3 fish for 5 lbs. or so. Leader is at 17.
  14. Looks to me like a good game plan. I would look for deeper water near spawning banks. Good luck!
  15. A little slower today, caught 18, with 2 keeper sized. Mostly c-rigged lizard fish, and a few on the wobble head. Got off the water at noon. Saw 4 deer in a group swimming across the main channel, why they decide to make that swim is a head scratcher to me. Maybe something chased them into the lake, but I did not see anything. Water temps 61-62. Lots of boats out again today.
  16. Welcome, good to hear you helped Pepe out!
  17. Green Pumpkin/Purple.
  18. Decided before heading out that I was not going to fish the Ned rig, and I was going to fish pre-spawn staging areas and avoid the shallows. One of those day where I decided I was going to do things a little different. Fished a 6" Zoom LIzard for most of the day, caught close to 20 on it, a few obvious keepers and a few borderline fish. Fished it on a Carolina rig, mostly in the 5 -15 FOW range. Most of the fish came from staging areas in coves, but some were main lake fish. Caught a couple more on a finesse jig, but I didn't fish the jig for more than about a 1/2 hour. Hooked something big on the jig, but if was off the hook pretty quickly. Lots of boats out there, but you can still work around them and catch fish.
  19. Bo, I think they went back on the day shift.
  20. Some good fishing!
  21. Here's a northern water snake pic. Sure looks like yours.
  22. Picture is taken from too far away, we need you to get much closer and take another pic.
  23. Do a search on "Bassmaster Classic qualifying 2017". You'll get some results that lay some of it out. Nothing I can find on the Bassmaster web site explains it. They've redesigned the site, and I am not impressed by the changes. From what I can tell, they have dropped the number of Open qualifiers from 6 to 3. The winner of BassFest qualifies for the Classic. They have a new event this year, an 8 angler bracket tourney. It's on the Niagara river somewhere. Winner gets a Classic berth. Other than that, it is all about the points (except for college and other miscellaneous qualifiers). I think it stinks that winning an Elite event does not qualify you for the Classic, but based on my limited understanding of the process of how they make these changes, the Elite anglers have a panel that has input on who qualifies.
  24. Thanks for the report, some nice fish. I am getting the top water bug also, and plan to start throwing them more.
