    Skunk Removal

Man, that is funny - I can't imagine picking a live skunk up by the tail.
  3. Maybe post your question in the Bull Shoals forum?
  4. Good stuff.
  5. Tiny Torpedo - good idea. I think I may have one stashed away somewhere.
  6. The magnificent eagle sifting through chicken crap for chicken parts, I know they can be scavengers, but good grief..
  7. Yep, they need a bat, Gordon, Hosmer, and Butler are the middle of the line up and they are not getting it done.

    Skunk Removal

That is bold, very bold, no way I would even think about trying that method of skunk removal.
  9. Crazy stuff, glad to hear you got out in one piece.
  10. It was slow for me today also, not much wind and it got hot fast.
  11. I was stinking it up today, 2 bass total. Both came on a Strike King Structure Bug fished on a wobble head. One was a nice healthy 2 lb. LM and the other a 13" spot. Got the LM on a bluff wall and the spot in some wood. Also lost a good fish, looked to be 4 lbs. or so, that hit the Structure Bug off the back corner of a dock. Had that fish on for maybe 5 seconds, and then it jumped at least 3 feet into the air and threw the hook. There was some mid-channel top water activity early, but the fish were scattered and moving around, had a couple of slaps at a Spook, but just couldn't stay with the fish. Might be time to use something like a spoon that can be cast a long ways and ripped back. Most of the fish I am seeing out there look small, which can be explained by the small shad. There are a lot of shad out there, but they are only an inch or so long. First time I've fished the Structure Bug - it has good action, but like most Strike King plastics it is very fragile. Get a bite and it's likely one of the appendages will get pulled off. Bluegill pull them off also. Catch a bass on one and it's pretty much destroyed. Water temp 82.
  12. Yes., please mark those lines.
  13. I was out fishing on Table Rock near Big M this morning - spotted bluegill on beds in a couple of areas.
  14. Spotted bass are slow growers according to the bios - 6 to 7 years to get to 15".
  15. There's always some at Swepco (Flint Creek reservoir) outside of Gentry AR in the winter. They've got a short trail built over the wetlands that leads to a viewing platform which was specifically built for viewing eagles. There haven't been as many the last few years at that lake, used to be 50-100 hanging around, but now it's maybe 20 or so at peak. Lake Fort Smith might be a good place to try, there's a trail that encircles the lake, never been there in the winter, but there has to be a few eagles there, seems any place there's water here in NW AR there's going to be eagles, at least in the winter.
  16. Yeah it's funny - I have never seen anyone out there placing them, I guess they do it at night to try and keep it secret. I did see the state putting cedars in Indian creek (Beaver lake) that they had cut out of that land they purchased up there. They did it a little differently, planted the trees vertically weighed down with blocks rather than just placing a big pile of brush in the water.

I've got that exact same trap you do,I trap a lot of squirrels with it. Got a possum last year, relocated him - he just walked out once I opened the door and slowly walked into the woods. Racoons are what worry me (next to skunks), those things get pretty mean in that trap sometimes.
  18. Not me. There's more brush piles in that area than a guy can fish in a day. Somebody is putting them out there.
  19. The ultimate is when they back it down the ramp, pull the cowling off the motor, pull out a toolbox and start working on the motor. I've seen that at least twice in my life.
  20. I heard so many of those stories of how good TR was back in the early 60's from my dad and grandpa. I wish I had a time machine.
  21. So true, you toss something at them and you'll be the one going to jail. It's not worth it and it won't change anything.
  22. Never have understood the "I'll back my boat down the ramp and then load it" mentality.

    Possums are one ugly critter.
  24. Yeah I watched the game, Lester looked good. Royals can't hit worth a lick. Boston isn't dead yet, but they have a brutal road trip at the beginning of August, I can't remember exactly, but I think it's St. Louis, Angels, then on to Cincinnati.
  25. Really stinks when they are out there by 7 AM. I see that guy in the red boat just about every time I fish in that area.
